So we know of at least 2 SEC job openings so far
Sunbelt Billy wont be returning and neither will Pittman. The Ball Coach, Foley, and Loafers have alot of pressure on them to get it right this time. They gonna want a name there
I doubt the Pigs hire BP again as the perm HC altho I could see a move soon to make him Interim.
I think Freezus ends up saving his butt altho it could go sideways with alot of schedule left. They are much improved this season and I think he holds on. Jury still out on Stoops.

Malzahn to Arkansas. That?s the rumor on some Hog boards.
I heard Billy?s buyout is like $19 mil. but that?s nothing to Florida.

Rumor out here in Dallas is they are prepared to throw a godfather offer at Rhett Lashlee and SMU wouldn't be crying if he left. They are looking at GJ Kinne, who I think also will get a look at Arky.

A couple of interesting things to watch in the SEC as the season progresses:
What happens in Athens on Saturday night? If DeBoer loses again the wolves will be circling in Tuscaloosa.
If Auburn loses again this weekend things start to get REAL slick on the plains for Hugh. Would they make a move?
What's Kentucky going to do? Do they have a group of boosters willing to stroke that buyout check owed to Stoops?
Also, a name to watch at Florida that I've been hearing in the back channels...Eli Drinkwitz. Just file that one away.

I did see that Jon Gruden said he would be interested in coaching in the SEC. I'm curious how much interest some teams may have in him

If a team goes that route, after watching Belichick go 4-8 or worse in the freaking ACC, then they deserve the 0-9 that will be coming their way.
-
I get Gruden won a SB - but his 117-112 career record is not very inspiring.
"After dealing with Ole Miss for over a year," he said, "I've learned to expect their leadership to do and say things that the leadership at other Division I schools would never consider doing and to justify their actions by reminding themselves that "We're Ole Miss.""

He had 3 good seasons in 15 years, and one of those years he was gifted an all world Bucs defense.

The love is puzzling.

Maybe another Belichick in the making? Jon Gruden the TV guy for the last ten plus years?

If Drink goes to Florida with his offense?. Whoa Nelly.
The Memphis coach - Silverfield? - his star just took off after this past weekend. There are some Arkansas people not very high on Gus that would rather have him.
-
Don't forget about BK. If they lose to OM and don't make the playoffs he is also gone.

Gus left a HC job to be an OC again. I think that is probably how he wants to spend his next few years- just coaching offense and enjoying the coaching without the administrative part of it

There's a ton of people in and around that OM program who are VERY IMPRESSED with Drink. By all reports, had Kiffin turned them down they would've gotten Drink. If Lane was to leave, that's who they'd go get. I wish we would've moved on from SloMo after the Egg Bowl, LIKE WE WERE SUPPOSED TO DO(damn Keenum and Cohen overvaluing the Egg Bowl) and could've gotten Drink.

I saw Marcello tweeted out Petrino already lobbying hard for the Arkansas job right now. Pittman is a fired coach walking.
-
Florida and Auburn are both kind of disasters at this point and I think they are going to have trouble finding a coach if they fire Freeze or Napier. Drink is actually really intelligent outside of football and I think Mizzou lets him do his thing. He is a little Mike Leach like in that way. You very rarely see his name flying around for other jobs the way you would see other coaches with his success rate. It kind of reminds me of a Kiffin situation except the difference is that Kiffin likes to see his name in the public eye where Drink is self-aware enough and not insecure, but I don't see either of them leaving the two programs they have elevated unless it is for a huge job like Texas, OSU or Bama.
-
Well also maybe Drink likes it there, knows he has long term employment, Ala Lane, as long as he finishes in the top 20 and now with expanded playoffs make it once every 2 years. These guys make so much monet' now why leave. Look at Sark. If Arch is a bust and Texas loses anymore and finishes not in the playoffs he is on the hotseat.

Why the hell would Drink leave Mizzou for om??? That's lateral at best!

Because coaches around the country have noticed that Keith Carter lets the coach run the program. That's rare in this day and age. It's also rare that whatever Lane wants, Lane gets.
