When was the last shutout? Its been a while. Recent teams would have won tonight like 35-10 or 35-14. This was a big win. Good teams do this to FCS teams. I think we are a good team.

We have no pass rush and are vulnerable to the run. While better, by a lot, we aren't good. Improved. Yes. Of course, I don't see one great team in the country. All have holes. Lots of them.

We're a bend but don't break defense and don't have any elite pass rushers now that Whitson is out.

Our game plan is to rush 3-5 and use Jennings as a spy on the QB.

Honestly not a bad idea with our personnel especially given the fact that our secondary is pretty solid. But we're not going to get a ton of sacks with this group and gameplan.

It was about as clean a win against a FCS team that I can remember. If we had those ten minutes back we score at least 70 and they might get a TD or field goal but I'm feeling generous tonight. Good chance we still shut them out.

Agree with that and probably not a bad take most of time.

AzSU last drive showed that exactly. I think we should have pressured the box on that last drive and leave our CB 1on1. There will be games we must do that to win.

The run defense is what scares me on our quest for 6 wins.

This is the new college football. No one looks great early in the season because of the portal. But by years end an elite team or two will emerge - see Ohio state last year

For us, agreed our lines on both sides are just hanging in there right now. I would be surprised if we went 4-8 but depending on luck with other teams falling apart it could be 8-4

There are going to be games where we have to put score some teams to win- like Tennessee and Texas A&M. Essentially what we did against Arizona State.

But we're scrappy. And with this team I feel like they at least give us a chance. And that's an improvement over last year.

Yep, this was pointed out in our group at the game, although at game's end we held them to under 100 yards in both passing and rushing. The lack of a pass rush in all games thus far, especially after the loss of Whitson is very concerning. Need someone to step up, maybe Burroughs?

I think it needs to be Sylla and Hibbler and Trevion.

Sylla, Anderson and Trevion are the guys. Dink and company plug up the middle.

We also have to bring a LB blitz when in a 3 man front too. 3 man front don't get sacks. We don't have Jones, Simmons and Cox up front - no one does.

Mississippi and Arkansas combined for 1 sack yesterday. They gave up a combined 1000 yards.

We are not in an era of statue QBs. We need to just worry about not giving up 300 yards in the air and 300 yards on the ground. I’m curious how we do against Lagway, Green and Manning with a competent defense.
