YouTube Highlight Views - MSU and OM Opening Games
The highlights of both our game and the OM opener were both on YouTube Saturday post game. OM's was posted twice. As of late last night, one of OM's had 80K views and the other approaching 8k. Ours had 3.7K views. Man, we need to beat ASU and indeed start 4-0 to rebuild fire in our program and win back interest in our fanbase from the hardcore to even sidewalk fans. Only a winning season will do this. Hail State!

Yeah, me and a buddy were talking this morning about it, and this game (while not a likely win), would be such a shape shifter in our program right now. We have fallen into obscurity and we need someone to put the paddles on our program and give it a shock back to life. A win like Saturday could be that shock and a potential turning point.
Would it mean we are going to be a threat in the SEC....absolutely not. But it WOULD raise a few eyebrows and put Lebby and MSU back into relevance as a team that could potentially be back on the rise. Would also help recruiting tremendously, as well as support.
I will be glued to the game for the first time in multiple seasons, and if we win I'll be back on board the wool train. I/We just need someone hope and optimism.
As for Ole Miss....we shouldn't even be comparing ourselves to them at this time, and maybe never again. They are just in a different stratosphere in terms of money, support, and potential at this time. It kills me to admit it, but it's true. Wins like Saturday can help us get back on a path to that level, but as of now we are much closer to USM than we are to Ole Miss....so we need to find a way to win this game Saturday. To me it's the biggest game in years for State. (So I'm fully prepared for a bed shitting disappointment haha)

Huh, lol? Show me where he's wrong.
CD is both realistic and hopeful in his post. If you want carbonated sunshine pumped up your ass, maybe you need a new a team to root for...because if a healthy dose of perspective triggers you, then you came to the wrong place, bud....

Internet hot shots?.yall are glass half empty - no paying - no season tickets - half ass fans. We have had some tough years but to say we shouldn?t even be comparing ourselves?.come on. We have money?.

Sure, puddin.

Beating Tenn would be that. ASU game is a coin flip. Scattabo isn?t trotting out there to run us over this time.

He is painfully spot on. Reality can be a bitch at times.

What dead body dawg posted was completely true by fact and perspective.

The ranking is wrong, but asu is #12. Beating them would infuse some much needed excitement

It appears Mrs. Lebby needs her husband to stop at Dollar General and pick her up some Midol and Always.

100%….and a lot of us called it happening due to the incompetence of our AD (Cohen) and amateur-hour boosters. The AD changed at least but he still has to deal with our boosters. We have sooooo many that only care about left field lounge and access to the locker rooms and suites. It’s kind of depressing. An ASU win would be great but little will change, unfortunately.

I don't really believe never again, because we can get there, but I do agree that right now we don't need to be comparing ourselves to them. Until we get everyone rowing in the same direction in terms of vision, donating, embracing NIL, etc then we can't compare ourselves to someone who understands what it takes to win and goes all in on the pursuit to win. They don't care about optics, they don't care about winning sportsmanship awards or if people say they have no morals because they hired [insert great coach who has a checkered past], and they don't care if people don't like them. All that matters is what the scoreboard says at the end of the game.

Another thing that has always bothered me is that our so called "leadership" over the decades has never seemed to build on our success when we were up and OM was down.

Not only that- when they hire someone with a checkered past they turn it into "Everyone deserves another chance". While MSU fans get their feelings hurt because our coach cusses.
I agree with you- we can get to their level. Whether we're comparing ourselves to them or not is a little irrelevant in some ways. Personally, I think it's always going to ebb and flow. I mean, 6 years ago Matt Luke was their coach and they have gone winless in the SEC more times than we have the past 20 years. Sometimes we'll be way better like 2018 and sometimes they will be way better like 2023 and sometimes we'll both be at about the same level.
All of us in the SEC that are on the MSU, Ole Miss, Arkansas, Mizzou, Kentucky, South Carolina tier are about at the same level if we're all being honest here. Bluebloods above us who have a chance to win a NC and go undefeated and then Vanderbilt below us most of the time.
