Moral high ground! Hahaha what Freeze did at ole miss was almost as bad. Heck Freeze had hookers for his player/recruits. Briles did not actually tell his stupid players to go and rape women. He did what his school president, athletic director and other coaches had let happen. The big cover up!

One of life's great ironies - that Ken Starr was brought down by a cover up of scandal
"After dealing with Ole Miss for over a year," he said, "I've learned to expect their leadership to do and say things that the leadership at other Division I schools would never consider doing and to justify their actions by reminding themselves that "We're Ole Miss.""

So we finally get some real football info to talk about and we transition the discussion to Baylor's major faux pas. Did we Owen anything from today's practices we didn't already know?
-
The Right Reverend has been added to the staff as a burner phone consultant for Briles.
-
I would love to have Briles on the staff. We live in a world full of coverups so what's the big deal.

If we made him the head coach tomorrow we would be a better program. Not defending what he did and its not acceptable but he?s a winner

You’ll get no argument from me. I think he should be paid 100K tomorrow as an “offensive analyst”
That’s what we do with college football’s **** ups- hire them as analysts

I fail to see what part of my statement mentioned Baylor or Briles. I was agreeing with the post and said I do not care what a coach does in his off time. Point being, I do not care about his past. Sorry if I misspoke, Mr. Language Policeman

Having him this involved with the program where he's taking an active role in practice evaluations is getting pretty close. It will make us a lot better going forward. Hell, we may actually have a legit shot at going bowling now.

The post you quoted said nothing about private time. This thread is over a person whose issues were school and athletic program related, very public issues not private. That was my contention with your post. I don't have any problems with Art being out here looking at practice with his son in law.

It is old news, but Chris Peterson called out Briles for taking a transfer player he kicked off the team for domestic issues, and warned Briles not to take him. The woman he later raped at Baylor might disagree with you.

hind sight gets to us all, so no judging on it. Just saying it is a little more than comparing to Freeze.

Moral integrity is a characteristic of past humanity. It's no longer applicable. Winning is all that matters.
I think it's absolutely disgusting, but that's where we currently find ourselves.

Very odd stance for Chris Peterson to pull an "I told you so" card on that. It was a terrible thing that happened and no-one person is condoning the guy's actions but come on man... Tell me you want to be in the news without telling me you want to be in the news.

Football is secondary to people being injured.
Peterson was livid about it.

Yeah just do not see the need for the ?I told you so? segment. It?s a terrible thing that could not entirely be prevented, if not at Baylor then likely somewhere else. Just my thoughts on it.

Winning is all that's ever mattered. If it didn't we never would've moved on from Rockey Felker, never would've hired a known cheater in Jackie, kept good ole Sly Croom, and never would've hired Dan Mullen who called the entire athletic dept losers in his first meeting.
We can act like winning matters more now, but we're lying to ourselves if we do. Winning is all that has ever and should ever matter. You're not measured by how many people are on the Dean's List as a HC, you're measured by Ws and Ls. A coach has never been fired because a kid got a 0.4 GPA, because those can be fixed. Ask Jackie. But coaches are fired all the times because they have too few Ws and too many Ls.
