I agree 100%. Look at what O'Connor has done in baseball.

There is a lot of untapped potential in football booster wise and I think it's because MSU simply doesn't pursue them. Byrne did a good job of that with Dan. Probably not a coincidence.

Dan walked in a room of high level boosters his first week, called them all losers, cussed them out, and then left. Byrne backed him up on that and then the ones that stayed got in line and we were pretty streamlined under Bryne, Strick, and Mullen. Unfortunately Cohen blew up the streamline for baseball. That ran a lot of the boosters off.

We pursue plenty of high level boosters but a lot stayed away because of Cohen. We're getting some of them back currently, including a VERY BIG ONE that could be on the verge of making a Leo Seal type donation.

Good to hear about a big time booster stepping up. But.... these NFL guys have got to be pursued hard, even on the knees and begging by Keenum. Give them a building like I said. Hell, give them an Honorary Doctorate Degree!

Most NFL players are not donating to their schools. It's just not a thing they do. And that's not just a State thing. It's really at any college. I mean Bama has billions in NFL contracts and their guys don't really give back to Bama other than 25-50K here and there, which ours do as well. Dak has donated more than a few times. Jeff and Chris Jones have as well.

So our Multi-millionaires can't give back but our Hundredaires are expected to step up and carry the program. Saban is giving back hundreds of thousands to Bama. Too bad we haven't had a multi- million dollar head coach retire at State.

Nope. Guys that make it usually have their Bros on payroll with them and have to get Momma a house plus other goodies. Not to mention they spend some damn money on everyday life.

You talking about a former reliever???? I know of a former player who was really trying to hide his donation from his wife, so the rumor that a few of our former MLB players pooled their money is kinda true.

When the U was real big back in the 80's and 90s you had better believe the former players supported them and still do.

It's a stereotype, but stereotypes exist for a reason. Their school was producing doctors and lawyers, ours was putting out farmers. In terms of disposable income and time to go to football games, those weren't even comparable until maybe the 90s. Their fans had the time and money to support a football program in Oxford and ours didn't. A bit of an oversimplification, but indisputably true.

Not a former reliever. He did not play sports at Mississippi State, or sports anywhere.
