I was surprised because I didn't realize he was draft eligible! LOL!

Because he's locked in on college and bringing his brother with him!

There were rumors going on before the draft that the family was very pro education and going to college. A team isn't going to be able to make a package deal with two players for life changing money without wiping out a significant chunk of their draft bonus allotment.

You've got to think the Diamondbacks think they can get him if they draft him at this point.

I think the penalties for not signing guys goes away after the 10th round. But why not take him in the 13th or 14th round? They must feel like they've got the money left to give a good offer.

I think anything over $150,000 will apply to their draft pool.

just depends what they spend on the Top 10- but yeah- they will obviously offer him a decent amount

Jurrangelo was drafted in the 18th out of HS and did not sign. Hopefully we get him.

Aidan Teel, Gehrig Frei, Jack Bauer, Peter Mershon, and Noah Sullivan were all undrafted.

Agreed. That’s as good as could be expected.

Do we try to replace the pitcher from Rice? I would think so, considering we also lose Pico, Siary, and Ligon.

This may be our greatest ever recruiting and portal class. No way Parker should sign for 19th round when he can be 1st round in a few years.

But even then, I like what I see. This OF is going to have players in abundance.

Teel, Frei, and Sullivan not drafted. Catcher has Mershon and he can play multiple positions.

Yes, there are many. The Rice pitcher had good numbers lately but he sucked for most of his college career. Easy to move on.

This pitching is going to be deep.

Most depth we've had in a while.
Fall ball and spring training will be an all out brawl

I don't think we necessarily have to. Valincious, Foster, and Pitzer or McPherson would be a really strong rotation. And now Duke Stone is performing better in the Cape as well. Also have William Kirk who could surprise people as well.

Could take a guy too good to turn away of course but not imperative.

To put into perspective how huge of a grab Bauer is, he is rated as the 21 best senior in the country by perfect game. JT Ginn was 24.
