Through 8 rounds. Picks have been JoJo Parker, Landon Harmon, Pico Kohn, Davion Hickson, and Evan Siary.
-
Still no Bauer or Jacob Parker.

I think any State fan would've signed up for that outcome if you told them those would be who was drafted through 8 rounds.

Consensus seems to be that the Blue Jays are going to take Jacob Parker with their 10th round pick and get JoJo to take less money so they can sign Jacob.

Agreed. We expected to take some lumps. So far the outcome has been about as good as could be. We knew we wouldn't get through completely unscathed.

Slate Alford and Karson Ligon just drafted

Could be. We will find out very soon.

Ligon gonna get a handshake and a pepsi to sign. Figuring things out your Sr year is costly

All expected
Now replace Hickson with a player this weekend. The Kansas kid would be great.

Through 9 rounds. Picks have been JoJo Parker, Landon Harmon, Pico Kohn, Davion Hickson, Evan Siary, and Karson Ligon.

Toronto's 10th round pick is getting close. Will it be Jacob Parker?
-
Hunter Hines drafted in the 10th.
-
The Blue Jays do not pick Jacob Parker in the 10th.
-
And Parker survives the Jays pick in the 10th.
-
Gehrig Frei undrafted so far.
-
Parker could get drafted in the 18th round and still get 400K- just like Mershon last year

IMO, that would be a poor business decision from the Parker fam to not try to maximize JoJo's deal individually, and then watch Jacob blossom after 2 years in the SEC to re-drafted (arguably in a better round) and command his own $'s.

The Parker thing just makes no sense. It seems like he just doesn't want to come to school. I mean now that slot isn't a thing after the 10th, and they definitely will save some money by going Ligon in the 9th, who's to say they won't sign JoJo for 6.5 and give Jacob 300-400K. I also don't get in what world it makes ANY financial sense to take less money.

I think these two situations are totally different - wasn't Mersh was a college jr with limited leverage or did he have another year with leverage? Also, you gotta think Jacob Parker can only improve is future draft status after a couple of years at MSU.

Mersh was a sophomore. He had multiple leverage years left. Prager not signing gave the Angels the money to pay Mershon.
Just like JoJo taking less money and Ligon being given probably a tenth of slot would give the Jays money to pay Jacob.
