He did better than Johnson at navigating an immediate post-championship year, and way better than Bianco or Lemonis.

Tenn with 6 guys in the Top 72
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is

Harmon and Bauer not picked in the 2nd round either, well damn
Harmon is one that would be a collegiate star and be a 1st rounder later. MLB generally picks college RHP higher than High School RHPs.

Uh. I guess. If by that u mean he did less with more than the other guys you just mentioned.
Do I not look like a pothouse? Six foot down the bar. Go on, jog on, walk on, goodbye, bon voyage, **** off.

JT Quinn drafted in round 2... another Bianco portal loss.
Wonder why MSU could not get him, even as a transfer? Dad was a very good player for MSU.
Henry Godbout drafted, but Henry Ford is still not drafted.
I want to text my Tennessee friends and pour some hate. I feel cheated.

Harmon drafted in Rd 3- he gone

Harmon gone, it was a long shot

Agree that Harmon is gone. If they couldn’t meet his number, they wouldn’t have drafted him. But again, that’s not a surprise to us or the staff.

Yea, Harmon was looking to go. He wasn't coming to school unless he fell drastically from projections. So far we've only lost the 2 guys that we pretty much knew we were going to lose.

Tomorrow is the big day for us. We didnt have a but a couple of guys in the Top 3 rounds to worry about. Rounds 4-10 will much more angst

About the only thing that's changed tonight is we can feel a little better about Bauer coming to school. At this point if someone signs him they are going to have to go well over slot to do so based on his asking price.

Bauer dropping adds some mystery to the draft now

and that happens all the time. Just look at at very own OF'er last year. He was drafted in the 4th round but signed for 2MM

What do we think about Bauer not going at this point? He was listed in the top 5 available midway or 2/3 of the way thru the 2nd round.
-
For reference, the 1st pick in round 4 starting tomorrow (#106) is slotted at $722K.

Agree, that's why I only said a 'little better'.

Optimistic for us. Sure, maybe someone goes over slot tomorrow but IMO he has the upside to be a legit first round pick if he comes to college and develops.
I'll add this- O'Connor has a much better history of getting players to school than Lemonis did. Getting Tanner Allen, Westburg, Landon Sims, Foscue, and Bednar and Logan Tanner to school was a big reason we were able to break the glass ceiling and finally win a NC. If O'Connor can pull classes like that and he might with having more resources than ever- our future is very bright.

He can still be drafted and go for higher slot money.
The issue for Bauer is development is needed to make the 102 mph velocity a game-time weapon. If you go to MLB.com, they have a big write up. Controlling the pitches, how big his Velo jump happened, and the spin rate.
This could be huge for MSU, like how MLB doubted Jurrangelo as a pitcher. Could be that MLB needs to see how jumps between age 17 to 21 to give him 1st round money. Let's see how this plays out. Still feels low probability for MSU.

This is where NIL helps for sure. It used to be that the player weighed MLB money versus a partial college scholarship. Now the colleges can make sure the player gets cash.
