It was said we couldn't hire a coach like BOC. We'd have to go with a G5 guy.
    That was wrong.

It was said we couldn't spend the money like the big boys. We're broke.
    That was wrong.

It was said that Ace Reese would hit the portal. We couldn't keep him.
    That was wrong.

It was said BOC can only land UVA players.
    That was wrong.

Whole lotta wrong being spewed around here. I'd hate to be wrong that much. Good thing it ain't me.

So when the best coach in college baseball gets a player that played for BOC, no negativity about him( only excuses for his high era). But if BOC gets player that the best coach in America wants, you point out the negative side of that player saying his fielding is suspect.

Only a Jr high assistant coach thinks Lemon would be successful.

Does a guy with a 6.23 ERA really deserve the designation of 'STAR LHP'? I know we have signed a couple of pitchers with elevated ERAs but I don't think we referred to them as stars.

LoL. As far as recruiting, it wasn?t Bucket Coach, His hitting Coach was the guy. The deal is, the reason we got money was because of the hire getting BOC. Bucket wouldn?t have received what BOC was gifted. Mainly because BOC is a blue blood Coach. Also I will be surprised if Bucket gets a SEC HC job. He was way over weight??.i mean over rated. LOL

O'Connor is the best coach in college baseball, an opinion I've had and expressed for years.

I can see an argument for O'Sullivan or Corbin, or even Jay Johnson if you only value the last few years, but Vitello (while very good and someone who could potentially be #1 one day) is not going to be #1 on any well thought out list.

Blanca was very good the two years prior, and he may end up being a stud at Tenn. he has to prove it though.

A have it from a pretty damn impeccable source that Lemonis WILL NOT be the HC at South Carolina no matter what happens with Mainieri. The boosters have made it extremely clear to Ray Tanner that he's not hiring another retread.

Tanner is no longer the AD at USC, as of last December. Jeremiah Donati is now the AD, but regardless of who is in the spot - boosters call the shots.

Did not know that. The guy I talked to back in May just said they made it clear to the AD, I guess I assumed Tanner was still the AD.

The money to make the change came mostly because of our change at AD. Many that gave the money for the buyout , the new staff and NIL money would not have been so generous if the current AU AD was still here.

I would challenge anyone to name a coach that has accomplished more than BOC at a school not really even committed to having an elite baseball program?

I had forgotten that he was D1's "coach of the decade" last decade.

No doubt about our AD. He is a difference maker.

I was going to say- it would be surprising if South Carolina hired a guy with the same profile as Manieri essentially.

I'm just not sure that Lemonis is detail oriented enough to coach in the SEC. He needs to be at the Citadel where he can take them to regionals.
