I do believe he goes. But he’s not “gone for sure”. There is a chance he comes back, but I don’t think it’s likely.

Not very likely he comes back. He's one of those guys that it's probably best if they go ahead and get in a ML farm system because I don't know how many innings there will be to go around next year. He also would lose leverage next year so unless he thinks he's going to be an extremely high pick next year then it's probably best to go ahead and go. Would love to have him back though because he's probably your Sunday starter if he comes back.

I guess it depends on how far down the draft board he goes versus what kind of NIL we would pledge to him. If they are fairly equal then he doesn't really lose anything coming back even with no leverage next year. As good as he was the last half of this past season I could still see him being a weekend starter for us if he comes back. He was our best starter at the end of the year.

We should probably think that a drafted 21-year-old, going in his expected round or better will go.

Would be great to have his experience and talents back in 2026. Just not expecting it.

If he does go, he was a successful MSU recruit and player. Contributed all three years, got better, won a huge game, and gets drafted after 3 years. As a Freshman had to do an emergency start vs Paul Skenes and National Champ LSU.
