The whole thing is totally weird. Supposedly he and his family love the program and Starkville. Also, we supposedly gave him an NIL deal pre-settlement that would be really tough for anyone else to come close to legally. And, on top.of that, we have now hired a championship level coach that everyone believes is one of the very best in the nation. Yet, somehow we nearly lost him? Like I said, totally weird.

Zero loyalty anymore. Zero. These are no longer the players we cheered for in the past. Nothing but hired contractors from now on.
There should no longer be backlash when a poster bashes a player. I always hated that, but they're hired and paid to perform.

He had some people in his ear that wanted him to look around. That's all it was. I will say this, I've gotten to know Aaron Reese, Ace's dad, throughout this season and his parents were very happy with him in Starkville and want him here. And look, I completely get wanting to make sure you're getting the best offer and the best chance to win. People may not like it, but he's operating within the rules that were set up. I mean I've seen a ton of people calling into question Ace's character in the past few days and honestly that is BS. No one was questioning his character when he transferred here from Houston. No one questioned the character of any of the guys that have transferred here from UVA or other programs. No one questioned the character of Brian O'Connor when he took A BAG from us and left UVA.

We have some fans who believe Lemonis wasn't the problem, but the school and its location IS! They probably can't wait for O'Connor to struggle recruiting to little ol' Starkville, Ms. just like Lebby is struggling. Because to them the shithole town of Baton Rouge (I know because I've been there for work many times) is Soooo much better for drawing college athletes. No. It draws them because LSU has a history of WINNING in every sport! There is NO Fanbase more arrogant, obnoxious, and self-aggrandizing than LSU fans. Not even ole miss can hold a candle to those pricks!
I know I can be very negative towards our coaches and players, but I love Mississippi State. I'm old enough and smart enough to recognize Lemonis was a step down hire by Cohen and regardless of what any of these so-called message board experts think, he was sitting on his bucket when a team built by the previous staff won a National Championship!

You can rest assured that THIS Mississippi State fan will continue to criticize over paid coaches and players for not living up to their pay! Regardless of sport or how "young" they are, they get to wear the uniform and play a kids game AND get a scholarship than thousands of high school athlete can only dream they had a chance to do! Y'all can coddle them all you want! Wear the uniform proudly! Play your position well! Earn your scholarship and now salary! Represent the school with class!

Agree. I personally have not seen that, but anybody doing that needs to step back. The guy has zero rship with this coaching staff. I Can't blame him for looking at options, especially when the last two national championship are beating down your door.

The guy turned down playing for the last two national championship to stay here? How on earth is that zero loyalty?

If we hadn't hired BOC and upped our NIL commitment it would have made a lot more sense given the way Reese raised his value this past season. But at this point I think it's just FOMO for a lot of these guys even when they don't really have a good reason to get in the portal.
I just know I've never been less emotionally invested in MSU sports and all college sports in my entire life. Im getting the same indifferent vibe I have for the most part toward pro sports. Sure, I will watch games, but winning or losing doesn't really impact me like it used to, especially college ootball. The guys playing now can barely even qualify as 'college students'. No normal student earns a desired degree by transferring schools 3 or 4 times. I really wish every pro sport was forced to have their own minor league that gave kids a choice out of HS if drafted about whether they even want to attend college.

I think you missed the point. I wasn't saying this specifically about Ace. Generalization. This is what college sports has become. Hand out to see who pays the most.

Spot on. And yes, Baton Rouge is an absolute shit hole.

Well he did stay at one of the last 5 national champions. We aren't exactly chopped liver although Lemonis was letting us get close to that.

I think a lot of this "rumor" goes back to things that took place prior to BOC being hired and Ace securing his NIL deal. And IF our coaches did go up it didn't have to be about Ace. We have 3 players or more up there and a number of portal guys. We should WANT our coaches going up and scouting for the best. I think this whole "rumor" has been about gaining clicks off the inferiority complex our fanbase has.
"After dealing with Ole Miss for over a year," he said, "I've learned to expect their leadership to do and say things that the leadership at other Division I schools would never consider doing and to justify their actions by reminding themselves that "We're Ole Miss.""

Watching Lemonis coach baseball the past 3 plus years was like eating Liver and I HATE liver even with onions and gravy!😳

Yes it is! It is not a place I would want my kids/grandkids to go to school. My father, wife and I, 1 kid attended did not graduate/nursing school, 2 kids and now a granddaughter have all graduated from State. And we all have excelled in life. We don’t look at life as when is the next party like they do in Baton Rouge.
Plus that crap hole they call Alex Box stadium is a dump!

I would much rather be around LSU fans than Ole Miss fans. At least the LSU fans food is better.

You should change your name to Captain Oblivious
A) Lemon was a problem. So is our town and location
B) BOC should not struggle in recruiting- he has double the NIL budget Lemon had
C) Nobody thinks BR is Mecca. But they do have fun shit and their program is college baseball's best. Hevesy could recruit at LSU
D) Yes- Lemon was our 8th choice and I pointed out his coaching defeciencies all during 2021 but I was jumped on constantly because we were winning
E) Lemon recruited Bednar. Without him turning into Superman in Omaha- there is no title. Lemon won a title- he deserves the praise for that. He also deserves being fired in 25 and ****ing up a job that's hard to **** up.
F) We have made changes and funded the program twice as hard as we did for Lemon. BOC has been successful in spite of his underachieving in 2025- and he has more resources than he has ever had. Like with Lemon- only he can **** it up.
G) We have done well this summer- now we have to see what the draft does to us. Between our HS and Portals- the Draft is going to take at least 6-7 pieces from us. Could be as much as 10. Anybody drafted in the Top 10 rounds is 98% gone. Rounds 11-20 will be the wait and sees.

I get you have issues with Lemon due to your grandkid being in the program- but thats a really bad take
