    Ben Davis

Withdraws his name from the MLB draft. Obviously, we have seen what he can do and this is a big piece to return for our pitching staff. I think he could be our midweek starter and/or come out of the bullpen for us on the weekend and be a multi-inning guy. He went 4-2 with an ERA of 3.77 which was better than Siary or Nate Williams last year and he had 61 K's with 24 BB's in 57.1 IP. If he can get his hits allowed (52) and walks down some as well as the HBP's down some he could make an jump. He's a guy- and this could apply for all of our pitchers really- that could also benefit from having a better catcher behind the plate as he had 5 WP's last year as well. Davis was invited to the MLB combine so he definitely had some scouts interested in him and based on his rankings I believe he would have an 8th-12th round grade.

This is likely an example of NIL helping us retain a player as he likely wouldn't have commanded a crazy high signing bonus and he stands to potentially make more money through NIL plus whatever senior sign bonus he can get.

Speaking of closers- Dane Burns had a good night out of the bullpen in the Cape striking out 6 in 3.1 of relief.
