BOC's players at Va are top portal transfers yet nobody asks why they didnt make a Regional with all that damn talent???
BOC underwhelmed more in 2025 than the ****er we just fired. Talk your shit but that is straight up facts. Va didnt lack talent in 2025 and still couldnt make a Regional. But keep talking that shit boys while top portal guys not from Va dont sign with us
Gifted? Besides more commitment to baseball we doubled the guy's salary. If BOC hadn't taken the job there would have been a lot of other very successful D1 coaches ready to take it for that kind of cheese.

He needs to tone it down but it ain't happening, we should thank Buck Showalter and others for helping secure BOC. I trust those guys way more.

Damn this definitely took an interesting turn. I think a few things can be true at once.
1. Was Lemonis a BAD coach? No. Bad coaches don't win national championship, no matter how much talent they have. See Joe Moorhead
2. Did we upgrade? Yes. Brian O'Connor is a top 5 coach nationally and Lemonis is most certainly not.
3. Did UVA's mismanagement of the program provide an opening for us? Absolutely. If they had given O'Connor what they promised him then he would not have entertained the offer.
4. Did we pony up some serious funds to make this happen? Yes. Bo McKinnis and Co. knocked it out of the park in terms of ID'ing O'Connor, getting the funding together from boosters and a few former players, and providing Zac with every bullet necessary to get this done.
5. Did O'Connor and Co. underachieve last year? Yes. They were preseason #2 and missed the tourney entirely. That's a disappointment and a definite underachievement.
6. Does that mean he's a bad, or washed, coach? Hell no. The guy had a bad year. His team was really young and they struggled out of the gate. He's still been to Omaha more this decade than most programs have been this century.
7. Did he underachieve more than Lemonis last year? Hard to say. When Lemonis was fired we were definitely not in the tourney and the team was just playing far too tight with him on the top step. If he remains do we make the tourney? Maybe. But it's far from a guarantee.
Look at the end of the day we got a top 5 baseball coach and armed him with a top 3 NIL budget. That's a lot to be happy about.

All this is great, but when you make definitive statements on here and say "we ain't getting BOC" or we aren't doing this or that, a real man has to own that. Especially when you make those statements talking down to everyone on the forum. Their are a lot of quality posters on this board and quite a few that played sports at a high level and have quality input only to have it run down by someone that thinks they have sources.

When you say "real man" that excludes Coach34.

I have explained over and over how Virginia's failure to make a Regional this year is not O'Connor's fault. Anyone who tries to say otherwise at this point is a troll and should be given a one-week ban.

If we are doing a week ban for bad takes, we should ahead and ban 34 for life.

16-11 in the ACC should have gotten them in. They deserved it more than KY. That being said, it worked out much better for us that they did t get in.

He's too iconic to ban for that long. What would this board do without him?

So he plays 1B? No where does he say anything about what position he plays. Guess he competes with Stallman for the position? Still looking for a SS and a Catcher.

Not good enough. He should be able to play 3B and throw it to himself at 1B

Testical State gave us Nate Dohm, good player.
I guess this means that Sullivan is not coming back, seems like an overlap player.
But also Stallman is kind of limited. Not great bat and not great defense.

Not sure Sullivan has a real defensive position but he is a heck of DH and provides help on the pitching side as well.
