    2026 Baseball Roster Sticky

Can someone put together a sticky for next year?s baseball roster with transfers, draft risks, gun possessions, etc.?

Is Hungate out of eligibility? Did he have to have surgery?

Is Loftin even still with the team?

    Right now you've got

    LF: Valincius/Frei
    CF: Teel/Chance
    RF: Nunnallee
    2B: Sanders
    SS: Woodson
    3B: Ace
    1B: Stallman/Sully
    C: Chone James

    Starters: Valincius, McPherson, Foster, Siary
Pen: Burns, B Davis, O'Leary, Duke Stone, Pruitt, N. Williams, Schnoor, Booth, Gleason, Maddox, Logar

9 HS commits expected to campus

That's 35 total. Though I'm confident several I listed won't be on the final roster due to draft or cut.

Gotta be at 34 by Dec 1.

    Needs:
    1. Starting SS
    2. Starting C and depth piece C
    3. Another MIF, preferably someone who could compete for a starting spot: need met
    4. Arms, Arms, Arms

Edited to add Maddox, P and Woodson, MIF

My breakout candidate for next year is Stallman. He has a great swing and big pop. We just need to clean him up a bit. Serious potential for a 280-290 guy with 18-20 bombs

I agree, but he was out of position. I do not think he plays there this upcoming year. Either first base or DH.

Looks like we won't have 8 1B/DH's this year so we might actually have a solid defense.

Frei played in the infield at North Alabama and could end up back there next year if it's easier to find him a spot there.

If he could transition to 2B and be serviceable, then our best case scenario lineup would be:

    LF - Valincius
    CF - Teel
    RF - Chance
    3B - Reese
    SS - Becker
    2B - Frei
    1B - Stallman
    DH - Sullivan
    C - James

That's an outstanding lineup. Of course some are draft risks here, and Becker isn't confirmed. But man... Omaha would be the expectation in Y1 at minimum. (Being a top 8 seed and hosting Regional / Super along the way).

    Is it baseball season yet?***

    I don't see that happening.

Lemon put him at second a few times early in the season, and he struggled if I?m not mistaken.

If he returns- his bat will be in the line-up. Question is- what will he play? He is a corner OF’er or IF.

The only 2 high school signees I see possibly making an impact are Peter Mershon and Parker Rhodes.

Then you have 2 Juco signees Patrick Spencer and Peyton Fowler. Spencer is a draft risk.

Then 5 developmental players: Boyd, Maddox Miller, Swain, Wortham and Fortino.

Could see additions/drops in coming days.

I see the Parker twins, Harmon, and Beliveau signing pro deals.

Gotta be a corner somewhere or DH if Sully doesn't return.

I think there is a better chance of Sully returning than Frei
