    Gautreau and Parker

It seems like the tea leaves are reading that neither will be retained.

So to Justin Parker, you saved Lem's ass in your first year and saved our ass in your second. Just a hell of a job from day 1 turning around the staff and then righting the ship and getting us to postseason play. You took Jurrangelo to another level, you found something no one saw in Khal Stephen, you made a closer out of Tyson Hardin, and you never gave up on Karson Ligon and he proved you right yesterday. Don't know where the coaching world will drop you but I know you won't be out of work long. A tip of the cap for a job well done.

As for Jake, he was there for everything. Through 4 staffs, 3 CWS appearances, a national championship, more injuries than you can imagine in a season, and getting robbed of a regional host there has been one constant. Jake Gautreau. I have never seen a non MSU graduate embrace Mississippi State and the traditions the way Jake did. And he fought his ass off for this program and those kids til the very last out, he literally went out guns blazing. For that, we will never be able to repay him. He recruited at an elite level and found guys who could contribute and contribute a lot at the highest level. Yea the chest beating was corny at times, but it taught us we were never out of the fight. So to Jake, Thank You. Thank you for everything and thank you for sticking by Mississippi State.

Maybe your best post! They both approve your message living in "small town America" LOL.

It worked for them. For some it doesn't. Jake loved it though. Loved raising his kids here. We all know Starkville is special if you let it be. You just have to get people here to realize that. We got Jake here and he realized that. I did not have the relationship with Parker that I did with Jake, but from all accounts he loved it and wanted to stay here for a long time.

A definite sense of appreciation! To Parker, Gotro and Cheese. In my mind they were so awesome at times! Wherever you guys go I hope you realize how much you were appreciated by the M over S fan base thru out the years.

Edited to say: Starkville is a great place and it doesn?t fit some lifestyles. But for some it is light years away from the crime, traffic and hustle and bustle of large metropolitan cities. Small towns have their disadvantages but imo the advantages out way the disadvantages. And you will not find a genuine friendlier people than Starkville Ms. I wish MSU and Starkville would market this in a large way. And would say to all those other SEC fans that continually put us down, call us Hicksville and say how could anyone live there, don?t knock it until you have tried it!

Yes, thanks to both of those guys and their families for all of their contributions to the program. They are both great guys and this is tough because we've never really had to make a change at the top of our baseball program due to poor performance. The change was needed but this is part of the fallout when you do, that being assistants not being retained. Don't think any of these guys will be on the market long though with their resumes and I wish bith of them the very best.

Those 2 should never have to pay for another meal in Starkville. They both gave everything to the program and I'm thankful for them! It would've been so easy just to mail it in, but they righted this ship, got us to .500 in sec play(miracle!) and got us to the post season and a regional final. They battled for Dear Ol' State and I will always be thankful for their efforts! Thank you to Coach Parker, Goat, Cheese and the whole staff for keeping it together when it could've all fallen apart!

Cheese is an interesting one. I liked Kyle as a person. He's a really good dude and the players liked him a lot. However, we had far too many baserunning mistakes for a D1 baseball team, much less an SEC baseball team. And unfortunately for Kyle, he's the one at 3B directing the runners. I mean Kyle damn near cost us the Virginia game in Omaha in 21 by holding Hatcher and almost getting Rowdey thrown out trying to get back to 2B. Thankfully UVA had no one covering 2B or Rowdey is hosed.

Nicely put CC, kudos to all of them for holding it together in a difficult situation and standing up for the kids.

Who knows, maybe in 10-15 years after the BOC era he circles back to be the lead guy

I don't think so. I think this is just emotional MSU fans. He didn't manage the regional very well, nor did he recruit well enough. Good guy and above average pitching coach right now. He's got a ways to go. I think Gotro will be a pretty decent HC if he what's to do it.

I think Gautreau may be less picky about head coaching jobs now. We'll see. I was shocked he wasn't named the interim.

I am hoping Jake decides to sit out this year. Let that buyout hit his account every year and see what opens up next offseason.

That might be the best play for him. A&M could very well come open next year. He can also get income from Boras and doing private lessons if he wanted too.

Had MSU gone to Hattiesburg, would have won that regional. Beat Miami (Pico), Columbia (Davis), USM (Siary), Ligon Rested.

Would be vs Louisville for the Super. Toss up to Omaha.

I think MSU would have won the North Carolina and Clemson regionals too.

Draw is definitely part of it.
