This search was not run from the Bryan Bldg?

It was run by Bulldog baseball alumni with help from some other deep pocket boosters. We have made a significant commitment to being where our fan base expectations are. The commitment to the program is why we were able to attract the caliber of coaching staff that we have. Nice job by the AD turning to people that he knew could get the job done when he knew it wasn?t in his wheelhouse.

    That's what wise leaders do.

I wonder who would have been hired if the AD had complete control over the hiring process and w/o the same funding? Doesn?t matter since that didn?t happen I suppose?.

Zac was never going to run this search. He understands that baseball isn’t his forte and understood that from the jump. That is why he brought in the Parker Group along with some big money boosters and former players.

The search was very well run.

At the very least we didn't have him on the Bo Bounds show proclaiming that we were going to hire O'Connor two months before the season was going to be over.

Bo was too busy pimping for Willie Bloomquist to talk to Zac.

Hahahahahaha I wonder what George Horton thinks about Brian O'Connor?*******

I remember the hissy fit he threw when he didn't hire Gus Mahlzahn. I wonder if we'll see that again?

Selman has been "under-rated" from the get-go. He has done well from day one!

I agree. If he can get football servicable, he will be a really, really good AD.

Baseball fix was pretty simple, now football may be a little tougher but Hopefully we can compete in the JWS and DM years once again.

Well with all sports now he needs to hire a GM and staff for player personnel just like a pro team. No more recruiting coords cause they are now out dated. Time to go Tex Schramm with his big computer.

ADs probably have less input for the big time hires than we think. Connected boosters probably get together, working the AD and president, and development a priority list of candidates, from there the AD starts working the list (reaching out to agents to judge interest, etc.). I'd wager a paycheck that Cohen has little input on football and basketball decisions at the barn.

Cohen was told by Jimmy Rane who to hire in football. As for our search, Zach ran it completely different from football. He was speaking to a ton of people and doing a lot of leg work during that search. He let the committee handle just about everything on this one.

We are very fortunate to have alumni with the background, baseball knowledge and access to the coaching community we do. Now that we have our old AD out of the way it frees us up to be able to use this asset. We have to keep building good will with these guys they are invaluable to us for the future.

If you don't think Selmon got this done, you're crazy. Sure, the funds matter, but Selmon had to convince BOC. We got the primary guy with little issue.
Funny how last week the same people we saying it was run by the hired agency and we hadn't even talked to coaches. That was 100% false as well.

Everyone has an opinion I guess. But I do have a little insight on this one.

Selmon is the face of the search but he had lots of input from certain folks. Looks like the best college baseball staff in the history of the ncaa
