“I have chosen to accept this opportunity because I need a new challenge and am excited about this next chapter of my life,” O’Connor said.

He?s bringing Kevin McMullan, Matt Kirby, & Justin Armistead with him. Wonder where that leaves the current staff, and who might be bringing from other schools?

McMullan is the recruiting coordinator, hitting coach, and works with infield defense and catchers. Considered as one of the top recruiters in the country. Gotro is not going to be retained is my guess. His responsibilities almost mirror McMullan?s

That's the rumor. Not official and I would not expect it to be until after Wake Forest's season is over.

Another guy who might be on staff- likely off the field- Michael Roberts

    https://jmusports.com/sports/basebal...l-roberts/4842

If we hire him I suspect most of his role will involve scouting and coaching baserunning. Sort of like Mingione's role except off the field most likely.

My guess is Gautreau is going to end up at Texas A&M as their hitting coach and possible associate head coach. He might end up ultimately replacing Earley who let's face it- isn't going to make it there.

I would love for Jake to stay but he's not going to agree to an off the field role is what I keep hearing people say.
