    Starting Pitcher for Tomorrow Night

Ben Davis will be on the bump tomorrow night.

I will be honest I have no read on what Parker is doing for this one. Are we going to try and bullpen it? Or do they just have that much faith in Davis? I have no idea his splits in terms of ground ball outs and stuff like that. But man IF WE WIN, we are in the driver seat of the damn regional regardless if we win or lose Saturday.

Strange decision, but it will be brilliant if we win.

Or maybe Parker is ready to get it over with so he can find another job. Nothing we can do about it, but I have a feeling these coaches haven't put that much effort in knowing they are all gone likely Sunday.

Gamble for sure, but why not, we got nothing to lose at this point in my mind. Better bring the bats!

It's a big gamble because Davis has been much better in relief than as a starter.

You wouldn't have to put much effort in to do what you've done all year on a Friday night and put Pico out there.

Definitely an odd move but I don't think the coaches just quit all of a sudden.

This is one of the dumbest post ever. Trust me they don't want to lose.

    If he?s on he?s good.

Got at Maddox nasty back up. Nasty.

If not, just pull him pretty quick and he can come back on relief.

I seriously doubt that is the case. These coaches have given everything for these kids and at the end of the day, they are interviewing for a new job. Whether that be with Mississippi State or someone else. Also, people can shit on Jake Gautreau all they want, but he cares for Mississippi State and he cares for those kids. Cheese as well. And I imagine Parker is the exact same. They see something so got to trust them on this one.

Then a perfect reason to start him because Northeastern is going to be trying to steal a ton.

I think Davis blister early in sec season set him back. He got drilled at Oklahoma and lost confidence. He has had dominant innings here and there. He has also given up walks and gotten drilled. Northeaster is right bat heavy so makes sense to start a righty. Everyone knows they steal but they also walk at a high clip, so we gotta pound the zone. Their average and power numbers are not great.

This is the only possible way to win the regional, IMO. FSU has two legit front line guys and neither will pitch against B Cookman. We have to have Pico IF we play them. Definite gamble with Davis, but really the only option to win the regional from a starting pitching standpoint. I am crossing fingers he has seen something through scouting Northeastern that gives him confidence putting Davis out there. We shall see, one way or the other. If it works, he is brilliant. If it is a cluster, he is a fool. He will be one or the other by bedtime tomorrow night.

Assuming we will have to beat FSU twice to win the regional and setting it up to have Pico and Siary start those two. Keeps Ligon fresh too in case we drop one. If we get 4 solid innings from Davis and hit it well, we will be in a good position.

    Two paths:

We win - Pico for Winner's bracket, Siary for Champ. He looks like a genius.
We lose - You're playing a swac school. Save Pico and Siary and if you lose to them then you didn't deserve to go further. That sets us up to have Pico v 3 for NE/FSU in elim. Then Siary v 3 for NE/FSU in champ 1. Then it's 4 v 4 in a softball park for all the marbles. This was the only

I think it's the only move to make. If you 2-and-Q without throwing Siary, then you weren't winning anything if Pico can't win vs. any team's P2.

Worst case scenario is Pico vs FSU 1 in G2 or Siary vs FSU 2 in G4. Great spot to be in.

Like others have said, we needed to think differently because of how well FSU pitches it. I also think we believe we can gorilla ball Northeastern and win a 17-9 type game and maybe we get 5 out of Davis and do not have to blow bullpen arms.

I like it. Win and you are sitting pretty. Lose and you have your normal weekend rotation to win or go home.

Post season is playing with house money this year. Let it ride

Ben Davis dominated a non SEC team in a start. Let's remember that.
