Looks like Grindlinger flipped
To UT. The 2025 class is going to end up like the 24 class.

Stinks but move had to be made.

For sure. A shame though bc he had a great chance to start at Catcher next year if he doesn't sign with MLB. UT already has Levi Clark.

We fired our coach. He won’t be the last to flip

So, he and others to announce were coming to state for Lemonis.
-
Baseball recruiting, and recruiting in general, is extremely tied to the coach.

The uncertainty of our situation could cause some commits to reevaluate. Particularly the out of state guys. Remember, a lot of these guys are supposed to enroll the end of June. Tough to do when you don't have a relationship with the staff.
Parker, Cheese and Gaut should be reaching out but their status is unknown.

Just hope that whoever we hire is like Johnson at LSU. He brought a large majority of a CWS team with him.

The kid doesn't know that Lemons would have benched him for Highfill for 2 years. MSU needs a stud SoCon kid that will mash on day-1.
Not fantasy, Tyler McManus did a great job at LSU and Lucas Steele doing good work for Auburn this year.
This kid was never coming anyway.

Bama kept the entire Bohannon class after his disgrace. Lemons was a bad recruiter. Kids flipped on him all the time and loaded up on fake, out-of-state, recruits.

Lemon brought in one of the freshman pitcher classes and a helluva portal class. His miss was a CF’er and another SP.

He got some players, got to be fair. The portal scouting produced some diamonds from odd places: Ledbetter, Forsythe, Stephens, Reece, Powell, Reeves, Hujsak, and Dohm. All excellent players.
I guess I am talking about the headliners like the marquee high-school recruits.
2023 recruiting class was supposed to be great. You are down to Nolan Stevens and the rest are gone or about to be gone from the top-5.
2024 class, only 2 of the top 5 are on the team.

This is only a loss if he actually goes to school. Which is debatable.

One of the the things that really dropped when Lemonis took over was our ability to evaluate signability which is what Cann was really good at. That's one reason why we kept Gautreau. But he hasn't been very good at all at identifying it.
Conrad Cason
William Schmidt- was always going to LSU once they offered which of course they eventually did
Grindlinger
Noah Franco
Conner Barth
Henry Allen
PJ Morlando
Dante Nori
And odds aren't great with Harmon and the Parker brothers. And who knows what Mershon is going to do- and even if we do get him he will be a 2 year guy.
Thankfully the portal has saved our ass. We have to do a better job of identifying players that we can get to come to school.

Henry Allen is in JC Baseball and hitting pretty well but fielding is yikes. Same for Conner Barth, also hitting in JC but defense is eye opening. Fielding % is not a great stat, maybe they are super rangy and make a play on everything. Allen is a huge kid that could be a 1B or DH.

I saw on MLB.com an article and one of the Parker brothers was a top 10 projected pick.

He didn't look top 10 in anything today in Pearl.

On game won't change much. He's going to go first round unless he gives them a stupid number. Which means he wants to go to school. But he won't turn down first round money.

Would one twin stay with MSU? Seems wrong for brothers to separate.
It's cool they are both good at baseball.
I knew a pair of twins that were LeBron James and Steve Urkel. The LeBron was a great and cool dude, the Steve Urkel was a total angry douche. The LeBron was a Thorpe Finalist, 1st Rounder, and NFL player. Nature can be so cruel.
