The guy inherited a train wreck of a dumpster fire. I don't understand the hate the guy gets.
"After dealing with Ole Miss for over a year," he said, "I've learned to expect their leadership to do and say things that the leadership at other Division I schools would never consider doing and to justify their actions by reminding themselves that "We're Ole Miss.""

Ppl are short sighted and think he should have turned the football program around in 2 months. Selmon has done great

He has the toughest AD job in the power 4 IMO and he seems to be locked in despite what I read on here. He is young, hungry and wants to prove himself to eventually get a premier job like OK so I like it. If that happens that means he did a good job while here. We needed a younger outsider.

No issues with it at all. He's been a Meets Expectations performer thus far. Hoping with this baseball hire he shows the first signs of an Exceeds.

Pure fantasy that most on here don't want him as AD. In fact it's quite the opposite.

I agree. And I've been critical of him but only because he seems invisible most of the time. Leaders lead from the front and should always be visible and heard. Doesn't mean I want him fired.
With that said, I'm warming up to him over time. He seems to be doing a pretty good job and I was impressed that he moved on from Lemonis when he did.
That on top of firing the worst football coach in State history before the season was over. Hopefully his football hire turns it around and hopefully he hits a home run with the baseball hire turns

I have no problem with him either. Don't think we'll really know how good or bad he is for another couple of years.

Byrne was the best we had and he didn't just fire Polk and Croom in the first months either. He had to let those situations play out.

Was a whole lot of complaining and bitching about him before Lemon was fired. Even then- he only did what he was told to do

That is a big problem with MSU fans.

"We want the State script to be the primary logo!" Selmon changes logo to State script and then "WTH!?! Why didn't we go with the interlocking MSU?"

Now he gets us LED lights for football and we have fans bitching because we are going to play some day games and are acting like he wasted money after they begged for LED lights for years.

The only thing MSU fans want is whatever it is they don't have. I can't wait for fans to complain about the IPF having goal posts that are yellow instead of white and that the chairs don't match the decor of the Seal Center.

For the Interlocking MSU - they were never Script logo people, so that is wrong to say our fans just jumped from one request of logo to the next. The interlocking have seemingly always been interlocking logo folk.
I am not sure exactly how many fans you are referring to that are griping about wasting money on LED. Maybe some online. I have not heard it, but I live out of state and maybe MSU I talk to don't care.
Bottom line - fans of all schools like to gripe.
Selmon unfortunately was coming in behind Cohen, one of the worst ADs, and people have had their guard up if MSU leadership will turn it around just based on Cohen screwing it all up.

I have no issues with Selmon getting an extension. I?m not impressed or disappointed in him because it is too soon to tell how he will do. I think everyone can agree that he inherited a mess and cleaning it up was not going to happen overnight. As another poster mentioned my biggest concern is that he is invisible and leaders are not supposed to do that. I am a supervisor in a middle management role and I am even always visible. The pros about him are his ability to make tough decisions at the right time such as firing Lemonis and Arnett as soon as we knew for a fact it was needed along with his ability to use funds to keep up with the times better than any AD since Byrne. I am still not sold on Lebby but he gets a pass for year 1. This year he needs to win 5 games or I will sour on him.

Firing Lemonis was a no brainer regardless of who told anyone. Selmon has done a decent job getting money raised. I am not buying with the notion Selmon is a pulpit and does what others tell him to do. If you guys know this for a fact spill the beans who it is.

Btw, I also don't think we are hiring an assistant baseball coach.

A few were adamant that Lemonis would remain in the role until after the season was over, saying he had enough juice with folks to not get fired in season. It appears Selmon was anything but a puppet with the timing of the move. Kudos to Zac.
