The difference in the SEC and the rest of the country is very simple $$$. We put it in baseball and most of the rest do not. And if fan support was the all powerful factor in success then why do we only have one NC? We have outstanding fan support, some to the point of being down right creepy. But we can’t sustain a high level of success in any single sport for several reasons. The biggest reason is we get in our own damn way every single time.

Our facilities and fan support is a bonus. No question about that. Makes the job more attractive.
Does not in itself equate to wins, but it helps already good recruiters be great recruiters.

Lemonis is a good guy. But he's not an alpha and is overweight/sloppy. Both of those hurt him in recruiting. A dynamic recruiter will kill it here.

We can get closer on the baseball field. With the change of the administration and now Lemon, we have a chance to get back funding that’s been there but not available. This is a resource we have to find a way to tap back into. They have been checked out for more than a decade but if handled properly we can get them back on board.

As State fans, we really should not downplay our advantages.

I?ll never get why our fans do that. We immediately want to say what we are good at doesn?t matter. We simply have to find a way to outbid teams that have 3X the population. That won?t happen. If that?s all it is, we need to focus on how Starkville can grow to 50k people, then 100k. (The answer is more jobs)

The question is what is a great program.

To me part of it is the ability to have great moments in front of great crowds. I?m not saying that is ALL it is. And yes, we will simply be outbid sometimes But it?s a part of it. And it?s a big part of it for the fans and players ( I am assuming). If I am getting goose bumps on my couch, I assume Ryan McPherson is on the mound.

Nobody is saying crowds = more nattys.

But it helps and is one part of the formula.
    I think it?s great and won?t discount it .

That would be huge for us. I never thought I'd see a day when Kentucky's HC made more than the coach at State

    A) Thats all I'm saying- it's part of the formula.

    B) Your 2nd sentence sums it up. We all think its great but other schools offer good crowds and other things as well that we cant. We have recruits that visit- see the huge crowds and the smoke from the grills- and still go to other schools.

Do you get chills watching LSU playing Kentucky in front of a big crowd?

We have the money to compete in Baseball to say we don't is BS. We just need to allocate more to that sport!

Just asking here but do you have an idea how we are paying out the previous staff and paying for the next one?

I'll tell you this- this summer will be a great test on the "crowds matter".

Reese and McPherson are going to be offered alot of money to leave StarkVegas. The SEC big boys are going to try and buy them from us. We will see how much crowds matter

The rev share will change a lot of the money structure. We will all have 20.5 million to allocate. Some will put 1 million to baseball. Some will put 2-3.
Then NIL as it currently exists goes away. All NIL deals will be reviewed by a third party for "true NIL" validity.

Plus, as it applies to scholarships, not all schools will fully fund the full baseball caps.

All true, that said, paying staffs, expanding our current staff well above what currently exists and other expenses will all be covered by booster funding. Every dollar matters.

    hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

So funding to Aunt Donna for recruits wont happen anymore? The money guys will find a way to get what they want. No system or set of rules will change that. We learned just this Spring the CIA killed Kennedy and nobody bats an eye. The money will get to where it has to for players

We will survive in baseball. As far as money, may be surprised at a donation coming.

Btw, when a school gets the right Coach, it helps everything from recruiting to money. Not many schools are gonna over speed in NIL money in baseball. Also there are more baseball players than any sport in America. Lots of really good talent for teams to succeed.

Can’t succeed in life while being lazy, hard works pays the bills!

So your argument is it will go back to the old way of paying aunt Donna? Great. That doesn't concern me.

Yes. The big boys that already have 20-plus million NIL's for football arent going to be restrained by some movement to make things equal. Texas is bragging about having $60MM in NIL.

The difference now is that these schools are also putting the money into baseball. Will we survive? Sure. If we get some of the guys back in the fold that havent been giving? Even better. That's going to have to happen
