Where do you think this leaves us?
I think the set up of a super league with regional conferences is fine if you guarantee revenue sharing is equal but the blue bloods wont back off that.
I am even fine with relegation because I think we would be fine to float above the 70 team line. Pretty soon with this private equity firm we will just see the rich get richer and itll be a 16 team round robin for the championship each year. 17ing depressing.

Love it. As long as the first tier or college sports is only 34 schools, we're in an uncomfortable situation. We were certainly a top 34 football program from 2009 through 2022, but we aren't now and it may be hard to get back.
If the top tier expands to 48 or 60 or 70 teams, we're totally secure. Even better if there is revenue sharing and equalization across the first tier.

We good
We'll be a doorknob in football- middle of the road in basketball- Top 25 in baseball
Walk like the King or walk like you don't care who the King is

Sounds to me like we're about to see 20-24 team SEC and Big 10 leagues with a 16 team playoff and a 9 game SEC schedule. We'll also get to play another random Big 10 team. My guess is we'll pick the other two OOC games- probably a USM/Memphis/Tulane/UAB/South Alabama game and then a random FCS team.
I'm interested to see what happens with the bowls. Are all the playoff games going to be on campus and then the finals at a neutral site? I think the bowls will still be around because people love to watch football and they won't have a problem watching the 5th place SEC team playing the 5th place Big 10 team on NYD at the Sugar Bowl.

We really need to invest in football as much as possible and if Lebby doesn't turn out well we need to hire someone legit like a Jackie/Leach. The IPF in much needed and excited about it. The next most urgent thing is enclosing the stadium and I hope that happens by 2031.

Boring Guy Question:
Why do they need so much money? The other end of the spectrum:
(1) Ask the NFL to draft from High School Seniors to Anytime.
(2) The NFL team retains rights for any drafted player until they waive their rights - but they pay the NIL and select the school for their THEIR players
(3) Implement a Coach Salary Cap. 4M tops, then the coach can go to the NFL and make more
(4) Teams have a NIL cap they must use 50% of the cap to participate in D1.
(5) Allow unlimited transfers.
(6) Allow NILed trades. August and December trade sessions.
(7) Teams can buy-out the rights to a NIL'ed player by paying Exit School - saves MSU
(8) College ADs can only make a maximum of 75% of the football coach salary
(9) Limit total travel miles per season - saves Non Revenue sports
(10) Limit the ratio of debt to revenue by program. 2 year payback on any project.
(11) Football conferences are independent and unaffiliated with other sports. Forever - now MSU can go D2 on Women's sports
(12) Basketball conferences are independent and unaffiliated with other sports. Forever - now Baseball can have cool small conferences that are more regional and efficient
Now you don't need so much money, 2 hours of Commercials per football game, super conferences, or hideous schedules.
