Don't know why but have always enjoyed playing Southern. Wish it was typically a more competitive game.

It?s terrific watching Highfill watch three strikes while the Southern catcher is tipping the pitches. Unbelievable, and you wonder why he?s 20 points above the Mendoza line!

Yes he is. And Downs is dropping like a homesick Brick. Baseball is funny. I know 2 guys in the Bigs who were getting ready to get released in AA because they were in the last year of their initial contract and were hitting under .100 and I mean striking out. Then one week one started hitting pop flys then longer pop flys to the wall. All of a sudden they started dropping in and he went on a torrid streak near the end the year. Got called to AAA then 2 weeks later gets called to the Brewers. Stayed hot and now has spent the last 5 years with the padres and Yankees. One thing about HH was he was always getting "wood" on the ball and making contact. Once they started falling in and he started hitting against the shift the Light went On. It usually works out that way.

Played alot of Small ball tonight. 16 runs and only one HR is kinda amazing.
