Jake Mangum - Rays Spring Training
Bottom Line Jake is killing it. 429 batting average and leads the team in RBI and HR.

If the Rays are too stupid to use him, I hope they trade him to someone that will. Mangum's AAA stats were far exceeding the boring and useless prospects that Tampa Bay promoted last year.

Jake had a slow 1st week but has been killing it since. Actually TB has some good prospects coming up in the minors. Thats if they keep them. ButJake should make the opening day roster at least as a utility player.

I really want to see Jake make it in the majors. But he just turned 29 years old. I think that hurts him because many times teams prefer a younger developing player. Maybe he can stick as a 4th outfielder.

The other outfielders are 27-28 so might not be too much of an issue.

If there's any organization that isn't stupid, it's the rays. They're constantly on the cutting edge, and they have to be to compete with their financial restrictions.
-
Think we would all like to see him stick, even for just a little while.

Jake got sent down today. Makes no sense.

What the ****?!

The Cardinals should trade for him. Jake is better than Siani. So is Victor Scott but that is besides the point.
-
And Jake gets called up!!
-
Congrats to him. How many games does he need for lifetime health care?

Still think the Cardinals should trade for him and cut Siani.

One game gets you lifetime health insurance for him and his family. 43 days to get $34,000 pension. 10 years is $230,000 pension.

I think 1 day also gives a permanent large bump to salary earned in the Minors.
