The only thing for certain is that he DID have an injury and he and the medical staff had a disagreement on the diagnosis.
Maybe he was thinking medical redshirt? Thinking he did not play in too many games. But can you get one if you leave the team?

We cleared him to play and he didn?t feel like he was ready (or his ?doctors?/handlers) and he just left. Nothing more nothing less. We took a gamble on a kid that had issues in the past and got burned.

As of RIGHT NOW we got three coming back:
Jones
Hubbard
Murphy
Another SEC team is making a big push for Nwoko and has offered him a nice deal.

I mean you can replace 6 pts and 5 rebounds pretty easily. Nwoko is a nice piece but he still has a lot of development to do.

I'd like that development to be here. Murphy returning could make that difficult
ETA... if it's one or the other, I choose Murphy

I'd like Warren back. Small deal with no promises of playing time. I think he has potential

I said half the open ones lmao.
Literally Shawn Jones and Riley Kugel should only be shooting 3s this offseason and doing nothing else if they have any hope of making the league after next year. Catch and shoot rhythm all day long.

Murphy this year was a worse version of Tolu last year. Nwoko this year was a worse version of Murphy last year. Agree I'd like another year of Murphy - I really would love him and Hubbard to figure out the PnR. That duo should be damn near unstoppable next year.

Wasn't Eric Paymon from Raymond last years' POY for Mississippi? 4 star 6'9" 245# who redshirted this year? I mean, surely Jans didn't miss on him.
-
can Paymon be expected to kinda take Cam Matthews place next season? What is expected from Bartlett, Fleming, Grace and Paul next year?

That's the role I see him filling.

Honestly how can you miss so bad on 2 Gatoraid player of year type players? They got to be good enough to help you compete?

I mean if he couldn't get on the court over Guy Chol then I'm assuming it's a weight room thing. Also like with the NBA, sometimes it's better to get the role player guys than the team carrier guys.
Jimmer Fredette could carry in college. Danny Green was miles better in NBA. Flip their college careers and UNC doesn't win that Natty / Danny Green doesn't carry BYU anywhere in the tourney.
We need more Danny Green types. Easier said than done.
It's like how Hubbard is the miles better player than Kugel but Kugel has way better pro trajectory.

I will start updating later today the players we have been in contact with and adding them to the list. Just a couple to keep an eye on right now.
Jaylen Sellers-G-UCF
Ja’Borri McGhee-G-UAB
Sellers is in the portal. I would expect McGhee in within the next couple of days.

Kugel could be a quintessential 3 and D guy if he would tailor his game to that. He is still trying to operate as a primary option instead of a 3 and D type player. And the thing is, Kugel would be our first ACTUAL 3 and D guy. We tried to make Melendez and Jeffries that but they just are not those types of players. If Kugel can accept that role he can make a difference for us and make himself some really money in the NBA because that is what he will be in the NBA

I can see letting Clary finish the semester in the classroom (or in the Templeton Center with tutors or online, as they are "student athletes", LOL), but did he continue to sit on the bench during games and worse than that continue to collect NIL? Taylor, Whitmore, and now Clary, do we have a big "S" for sucker on our coaches' foreheads?

Why did sellers only play 3 games?

He is definitely not a point guard (but after the Clary debacle and Warren not ready, Jans had no options), and a below average ball handler and a very poor passer. Will not sniff NBA, but will make $ somewhere overseas.
