It is obvious there are huge issues at A&M similar to ours in 2022, not to mention they probably lost the very best baseball coach in the land to their hated rival and he proved in 1 freaking season why he is the best! We have an overpaid lower half of the conference Head Coach who we cannot convince certain people that his NC was built at least 3/4 of the way by previous coaches. The effect Tanner and Rowdey had as leaders of that team is apparently immensely underrated by some of our fans! Lemonis should be coaching at a "Low Expectations" program, not at this pressure cooker! Lemonis at State is like Curley Hellman at LSU football!
I agree with everything you said. Especially about riding coat tails.

And no as a program overall none of those others have passed us but if things stay the way they are trending we will be rapidly letting them build at the worst possible time now that the rest of the SEC actually decided to give a damn about baseball.

And to be honest, it's rare these days that a college baseball coach is highly successful without being a bit of an SOB. Cohen was that way, Vitello, Sullivan, Van Horn, etc. all seem to be that way. I just don't think Lemonis demands enough out of his players or coaches and it's obvious with our lack of execution on the field.
We were third in the sec in fielding, 4 th in eta and 5th in batting avg. LAST year ...... I'd say fielding percentage surely falls in the category of fundamental doesn't it??? I get it people aren't happy w the start. Not happy about 22&23. But memories are either bad or stuff just get blow of of reality.

Fielding can be manipulated and we have always had a very generous home scorer. You will rarely see state tagged with an error at home. If we were fundamentally sound, Kellen Clark wouldn?t have flipped off the lounge for getting on his ass. He missed a fly ball that was miraculously scored a hit.
Base running is also a fundamental and you saw how that went this weekend in year 7 of Lemonis.
Sloppy ball is a lot more than stats.

If you remember at this time last year it was "we wont ever make it back to a Regional under Lemon" and we finished 5th in the SEC.

This year its "we wont ever make it back to Omaha under Lemon" altho I did like the "no way this team finishes higher than 13th" one too

Lemonis gets $1.28 mil to produce what he is producing. Meanwhile Cliff Godwin gets $600,000 at East Carolina and Elliott Avent gets $435,000 at NC State. I would take either of this guys over Lemonis.

We had one of the worst scorers I've ever seen. Fielding has become a BS stat at MSU, hitting a little.. Then you see the terrible base running. This entire program has become so soft it should be called a daddy ball team. Let's give the visitors a hit and feed them!

Like I said, I hope I'm wrong but being able to get to Omaha seems further and further away. But yea, if we would quit doing stupid things in the field and on the bases it would definitely help things a lot.
