RIP Gene Hackman
One of the greatest actors of all time. Gonna have to watch The Conversation tonight...

It is so ironic that he hated making Hoosiers because he thought it would tank his career and it is probably one of his most iconic roles.
He was also incredible in The Firm.

I always think of The Firm when crossing the Memphis bridge. You can see the tunnel off to the side of the bridge the chase scene at the end takes place with Tom Cruise running from the hitmen. I don't know if the trolleys still run underneath it anymore though.

I just watched The Firm the other day, since it was on Showtime or HBO. Great movie.

No doubt one of the best actors ever. The Firm is my favorite as well.
-
first noticed him in the movie Lucky Lady and then in Young Frankenstein (Yes I know YF came out before LL but I didnt see them that way)
Great actor

An underrated gem y'all should check out is Prime Cut (1972), which also stars Lee Marvin and (a super HOT) Sissy Spacek. Hackman plays the villain and his name is Mary Lou, lol.

Ha! Just watched Sissy last night in Coal Miners Daughter. Thinking Tommy Lee enjoyed making that movie with her.

did Lee Marvin ever appear in a bad movie? I think not

On a whim I showed my 15 year old and 17 year old Crimson Tide the other day and they were spellbound.

Loved the French Connection, Classic.

The Replacements might be my favorite football movie. Better Lucky than Good.

It's one that I've always wanted to see. Where would one watch that or do you own it?

Neither did Steve McQueen/ Now when we play Hoosier ball, pass the ball 5 times, look how dominate we are.
-
He also did great as the Polish Airborne Commander in the Bridge Too Far.

Yeah, I own it, but you should be able to watch it on Prime. It's one of the greatest films ever made.
Fun story....The Conversation, written and directed by Francis Ford Coppola, was nominated for best picture and best screenplay at the Oscars that year. Unfortunately, it lost in both categories to The Godfather Part 2...also written and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. Hell of a year, lol.
