Depends on how he performs next year. Injuries aren't the death sentence they used to be. 1.5 million would have been overslot for his actual projection at the time. Would have been surprised if a team spent that on him. My guess is that was his likely asking price rather than what MLB was willing to offer. He was always a guy that needed development and the most likely way he would have gotten 1.5 million was to come to college and perform.
We have seen pitchers recover from injuries and get large signing bonuses- see Ethan Small and likely Pico Kohn. Stone Simmons was out for two years and now he is throwing 94 and performing well. On a national scale- Hunter Elliott from Ole Miss I'm sure will also be paid well also.

Hmmm, you somewhat are correct Todd, what I've been told and have seen is crazy.

Yeah every start for Pico this year is about making money. Hopefully he is able to do what Purdue did last year or at least close to it

Pruitt looking good.
Can JP also coach hitting?**

Apparently we just can't score against Sun Belt pitching.

He hit that off the ground, lol

I saw it and I still can't believe it.

Good to see our hitting gurus did an incredible job evaluating Shane Lewis when he was here!

That home run is called adjusting your swing something we know nothing about!

Shane Lewis can only mash mid-major pitching. Put him in an SEC ball park, with fans in the stands, and against SEC arms. Wait, what did I just say?

Wasn't he here in 2022 when we had that murderous lineup Lewis couldnt squeeze into?

We've played 2 good teams, and we haven't scored yet

Different year, same shit.

I think Lemonis is starting to prove what we already knew. He was great with somebody else's recruits by adding 2 or 3 key pieces to round out the team, but when he has to build a team from scratch, he isn't even at Sunbelt level.
