High ceiling and not too low a floor. He can definitely play at this level though. Not a Wilky Denaud situation.

We're not signing "extra bodies" it's a competition to start. EVERY scholarship player is signed with the belief they have the ability to start. No university signs half their signees as being stated to be depth pieces. Either you can play or you can't. If they feel you can't you become walkons.

Mitchell was a big boy - no idea if he can play but would have been a nice DT prospect. I'm not going to say we're doing terribly, but a review of other SEC portal commits makes me a little less excited where we stand. We're getting better but just feels like we're not closing the gap as much as I'd like - at least on paper.

I have to agree. We are missing on a bunch of players. I'm trying to be patient.

Okay, that makes more sense.

How did Indiana lead the country in rush defense, I know they don't have big time recruits and they play in a great conference. We need to see what they're doing

Look at their schedule. That should answer your question.

Ehhh... we couldn't stop the scrubs on our schedule, so I won't criticize them. Sure they didn't play a great schedule, but being #1 in rush defense still says a lot. We need to see what they do bc I know it isn't who they have

It always blows my mind how people can't grasp the difference in the competitive balance of schedules.

If it was truly the BEST 12 teams, it would be 6 SEC teams, 3 Big 10 teams, Arizona State, Notre Dame, and someone out of Clemson/Miami/Colorado/Indiana/SMU.
The other 3 conferences would never accept that.Sankey screwed up ever accepting this format though.
You could convince me that AT PRESENT MOMENT, Florida could beat 4-6 of the playoff teams. They went 7-5.

If we played their schedule, do you think we woulda led the country in rush defense? No one is saying they played a great schedule, but they aren't good... that's the point - they aren't good, but they were good stopping the run. We should see how. I wanna emulate that scheme

What kind of question is that? Of course not. We were horrible.

We could have possibly 5 or 6 on that schedule.

We would have probably won 5 games with their schedule. FIU,WIU,Charlotte, and Purdue. That is 4 right there. I also feel pretty confident we could beat a team QB’d by Mike Wright, he was still starting when Indiana played Northwestern. And honestly between Michigan St, UCLA, Maryland, and Washington, we probably could have found one more win.
