What is amazing is the AU people are freaking out thinking that Arnold is their QB1 portal target. They do NOT want him. They really believe that they were going to sign some Cam Ward type QB and now reality is setting in.

I hope Arnold realizes that one fan base will be happy with him, another will be wanting him benched at the first sign of trouble, and Hugh has no problem throwing a QB under a bunch of buses.

Preston Stone from SMU has entered the portal. This is one I expect a few SEC schools, including Auburn, to go after. Before Arnold was replaced at OU, this is a guy we were in discussions through back channels with.

They were one of the ones on him and there's some smoke that Hugh really wants him over Salter. Seems to be less and less belief that Fifita is open to a move to the south. I haven't spoken with anyone in that circle with Auburn that would know but just reading some of the tea leaves it really seems like Freeze has zeroed in on Murphy and I know Murphy wants in the SEC.

Also, Murphy's visit is tomorrow. It would seem less and less likely that the Arnold visit happens. I know the family doesn't want to go somewhere that's bringing in 2 or 3 QBs to battle it out, especially in a system Jackson is not familiar with. Hugh seems like he's going to bring in multiple guys. The Stanford guy is heavily rumored to have already basically committed.
