No we were not. But most looked at it as a package deal. The last thing I heard this morning was that the mother and father both wanted him at State. That backed up what Steve said about 30 minutes ago. So be interesting to hear the real story on that one. Lockhart is very impressionable and so it truly could just come down to he went to a cool program. I will be honest, it would not surprise me in the least bit if he's in the portal after spring practice.

I'd be willing to bet that those two do not have spots on Ole Miss's roster right now.

I can tell you that outside of Blanton, Jennings, Tillman, and Mitchell-Hurtzler did not like the LB room.

Not really. And the family were not happy with the decision.

This will wind up being the day that we needed to finally get our stuff in line and organized. It?s happened under Mullen administration, and in typical state fashion we did not capitalize.

After what happened today, we need to publicly release Turner today and AT BEST demote Hutzler and make it clear we understand we have issues and are doing what we can to right the ship

They're not happy at all. But at the end of the day, they had to sign those papers. Had they really been that unhappy with it, they could've said you're going to Mississippi State.

It's almost like the staff doesn't look at our future schedule. We are going to lose like Saddam Hussein.

I'm surprised more people don't do this. Negotiate a nice six figure signing bonus to flip and start the monthly payments, then leave in May and go wherever you want.

Because coaches see that. I get the "get your bag" or "take care of your family" sentiment but for these kids, and especially a flip, to commit to a school in December and then leave in April is beyond a bad look. However, I would say it has a pretty good chance of happening on this one. Now again, his parents could have been feeding State people BS but from what I was told this morning, they went to bed last night and woke up this morning still wanting him at Mississippi State.

Just confirmed this is correct. Spot may open up, but they do not have a spot as of now. I think Lockhart was told earlier in the process that they would make spots for the older one and Clark, but I don't think those spots exist at the moment. I do not expect Lockhart back in Starkville either. He lied to the coaches.

I reeeeeeaaaallly hope you all are now beginning to see what I’ve been preaching. We need a change age in administration. That is, administration that has been involved in state athletics for far too long. It’s time for a big change. Until those changes are made expect the same returns. We have the same administration/booster pals making the same type of hire that are either A) their buddies or B) young/new to the job and easily controlled. As I said previously, be prepared to be left out when conference realignment hits in a few years. It’s over.

I 100% see this happening at some point. May be farther down the road than a few years though.

I'm warming up to that idea. I'm probably cool with it.

I'm getting to the point that I just don't care anymore even though Im still giving to NIL. Been hearing we had on the order of 20 million dollars to spend on players this off season and we start off by losing two of our best commits.
Beginning to think we will never compete in this new college football landscape. And what was the reason we needed to keep Hutzler at least through Signing Day? I've never really thought OM would totally pass us by until pay for play became necessary. Now I have little doubt they will.

NIL didn't cost us the players that flipped today. We didn't get out bid, just out recruited.

Not sure how someone like Lebby and Hutzler who both have seen this game on the other side at Ole Miss, OU, and Alabama aren?t prepared. I guess you have to delegate out a certain amount but if we got out worked at the position coach level then heads should roll

I wonder if it occurs to some of you that some players just have zero interest in coming to State.
