It's so frustrating. Most of Our fanbase would rather go 1-11 than give $20 a month.

Don't care. I contribute to St. Judes.
BTW ... this happened in Rome too.

I will watch them go 1-11 or 0-12 from my seats before I give to players. I give to KLove, St Jude, Compassion and Hope International monthly over $100 each. I have the expendable income and the time, just don’t have an ounce of want to give to an organization that obviously wastes the money.

Call me what you will, but no thank you. Not going to stop my tailgate or family get together if we go 0-12. Might help with traffic though. Hail State.

My 24 year old son actually started a drinking game with his buddy as to every time someone approached about NIL or BI they take a shot. Pretty entertaining to watch.

Do the liquor/beer companies make that much alcohol? I figure they'll probably run out.

I have to say this for the collective. They are well represented….. I wish them well but we do respectfully decline their invitations. There are probably about 20-30 different kids show up about it. It really is impressive the legwork on game day. Just honestly not for us.

The three playing the game are well tuned for kickoff. Haha

That's great that you donate to those causes. No one has ever said you should stop. But I just don't get the apprehension to give to athletes yet you say that if it was through the University you would have no problem giving. The money is going to the same place. Why the hangup if it goes through the Bulldog Initiative but no hang up if it went through the State Excellence Fund? I'm being serious. I'm trying to truly understand why every time NIL is brought up on this board you spring into action and have to defend your stance. Like we understand that you don't like it and you think it's the devil and you would rather us lose than win. Why? I have absolutely no clue. Winning is a lot more fun than losing to me at least. Winning also drives the economy of a college town. So I know you think winning isn't important, but it is. And not just for on the field.

If you can afford it and want to, then give. If you can afford it and don’t want to, don’t. But all sports are like this now. Basketball and baseball too. If you want any of them to be decent, we must pony up the money. I’m not a fan of NIL or the way it’s structured. But if we don’t play ball now, there won’t be a time to play ball later.
Classy. We could have a real discussion about the food supply in the US largely being poison, leading to obesity. We could talk about things like seed oils, inability to afford healthy food unless you're making 6 figures, how the food pyramid is garbage, or any number of other factors. But you would rather say that people struggling to buy staples like beef and eggs are fat asses who need to eat less and pay athletic mercenaries money they already don't have when their dollar is buying less than ever. Enjoy that superiority complex. Ignorance really is bliss, in your case.

Be patient. Saban will fix it. He'll lobby Congress to subsidize CFB cause it's sooo important to the economy. Congress and Senate will pass a multi-billion dollar bill the next globalist president will sign, so we can then add several billion a year to our national debt and keep CFB afloat. And the taxpayers will pick up the tab. And Saban and all the CFB hierarchy (which ain't the players) can keep stuffing their pockets with lots and lot and lots of cash.
    No worries.

I mean are you doubting that winning drives the economy of a college town? I mean do you think all those condos in Starkville or the new developments in the District were because Starkville is just such a damn happening place 365 days a year? No those were built on the backs of Dan Mullen and Dak Prescott and what they did here. They made it fun to come to games and spend the weekend in Starkville. A bunch of people, myself included, decided that we enjoyed it so much that we bought a place at one of those condo complexes. I didn't see those popping up from 2003-2009 though. And funny enough, we were pretty damn bad at football those years.

Truth be told last year I donated 4800 to BI I then called and found out through money tracing that BI did for me, that it all went to a kid that is no longer on the team. He transferred. So there at that point I SAID NEVER AGAIN.

For the record I think it is great that they actually trace it, should help with the “where did the money go” argument.

Frankly just a bad investment on my part. Learning never stops.

My BDC, Tickets, parking passes and townhome are already in my budget. Therefore they stay.

So what you're saying is that you'd like for your money to go towards a player that you know will stay. I've got no problem with that. Also I think it's very admirable that you did donate even though you're against it. I commend you for that. I would say this, there's a lot of people that donated to players no longer here, I am one of them as well(it was Zavion), but I'm not going to let that one bad investment deter me from donating again. I donated again for Hubbard, at least I assume I did since I clicked basketball and know he is about 40% of our NIL basketball budget, and that's been a great donation. I plan on making another one time donation on top of my monthly donation when the portal opens up in December. We're going to need a QB and every bit is going to help for Jackson Arnold.

Apples and bananas and fresh green beans are cheaper than blue bell and Oreos and Fritos. The idea that you can't eat healthy for just as cheap as eating unhealthy is a myth. We just need to educate people on how to do it. Should be a required class in school.
I can feed a family of 5 hamburger steak and green beans for the $20 it costs two adults to go to Wendy's.

    Off soapbox

And to tie this in to the conversation at hand, you can donate the money you saved to the Bulldog Initiative!!! Paying for players with healthy savings. I think we've found a campaign slogan for our next donation drive.

LOL ... you a funny guy.
Pretty clueless on the forces driving everything happening in the world and the reasons behind it all tho.
    Including college tuition costs.
And small towns in MS in the last few decades.
As things continue to merge more rapidly towards the top, lessee how many options are left when there are only 2 or 3 options and they're all working in lockstep with each other and yet ... we're told there is "competition" and "options".
Need to be paying attention to understand all this and most people ain't ... they're overly concerned with bread and circuses.

    Money doesn't make winning programs.

Look at A&M. Please stop pushing that NIL will solve our issues. Start holding the people making millions to run the programs accountable. I don't make a million dollars a year and I walk a much tighter rope than these yahoos.

Money ALONE does not make winning programs. You are correct you need accountability and coaching and a multitude of other things as well that A&M did not have. However, programs without money will not win and that is a fact.

Thank you. Call me the forever optimist but I think we have the right coach in Jans and Lebby to seriously compete YoY if the funding support is there. Lemon idk about
