What is Vandy's NIL ***
Took Mizzou to OT. Have looked competitively all year, and the lost good players to the portal.
An example of good coaching can at least make you competitive.
Clark Lea and Jerry Kill are getting every ounce out of their players.

He's gotten 4 years to build his program and MO hasn't looked like a top 10 team either. MO has a really easy schedule or they'd be losing games.

Coach Lea did not start year one with a defensive staff that was clueless. He knows defense and hired well.
He also has hired Jerry Kill, and other good coaches.
It does not take 4 years to learn to tackle, but it might with MSU until Lebby decides to hire the best coaches possible instead of giving a friend a chance.

It literally took Vandy 4 years to get to where they are. Damnit people, there are no instant fixes unless you've got $20MM to throw around. Vandy isn't doing that. Hell, they've lost players to the portal.

Did someone other than Lebby hire the defensive staff?

Vandy made the best portal addition with Jerry Kill. He has allowed Lea to just worry about defense and he is handling offense. Also does not hurt he brought his QB with him from NMSU and that kid is damn good. And he was damn good last year too. He is looking like one of the best portal additions at QB

I just want to win, regardless of offense systems. But Lea figured it out at Vandy, without NIL help if you consider he lost players to the portal. We need the talent equalizer type of offense at MSU as well. Well, we actually had a talent equalizer offense and were winning with it, but it wasn't going to get us a national championship so we have decided to go to Showtime instead.

Lea did not use the buddy system for hiring his OC. He is hiring good people and building the program.
When everyone says he has had a few years and point to Lebby for the same, it reminds me how Lebby has started out hiring a DC with no experience for this, and hired his buddies in spots.
Big difference in what Lea is doing and hiring, and what we are seeing in year one here.
