Asu barely beat texas state
Can't believe no one has posted about this and if so I miss it and sorry.
Looks like tsu stopped the run and they couldn't do much else from the small bit I watched

We should have beat ASU. Offensive mistakes and a poor defensive plan coupled with slow adjustments cost us the game. Also the call against Craver was criminal but we could have and should have overcome that.
That being said, Texas State has one of the best coaches in the country and the game was at home, with ASU on the road and short rest after a physical matchup last weekend. Says a lot for ASU they come out 3-0.
Mark it down - Texas State coach is on the short list for a lot of P5 jobs on 2 months time.

The road causes odd things to happen. We traveled 2 time zones, played the latest game of the night, and choked it away early. We can thank Putzler for that.
ASU went on the road on a short week and pulled out the W. If they play that game again at home they probably win by 2 TDs. It is what it is. We have to win the rest of the OOC and try to steal 3 in conference. Gonna take a miracle, but the hunchback did it his first season so who knows. Crazy things happen in football.

Saturday’s game is going to be close

In fairness to ASU barely beating TXST, I think TXST was favored to win.
But also yes, our DC cost us a win with his unbelievably horrible game plan

Texas State was favored for some reason

Texas State is good. And they have a good head coach.

Honestly I think ASU is one of the most improved teams in college football. They will probably go 8-4 and we had to play them on the road. While I agree we made a lot of mistakes and have a lot to improve upon, this loss was not as bad as people make it out to be. Now if we lose to Toledo at home that would be cause for concern. Texas State was also the 2nd most popular pick behind Memphis for the G5 playoff spot.

All of it cost us the loss to AzSt
The revolving door at the coaches office has left zero talent on the DL and other places.
Having to hire a position coach to be our DC is from the revolving door at HC and AD.
Having a green HC cost us (our offense wasn't great either)
Terrible PI call.
AzSt is a good team.
Road trip
It is going to be a long road for Mississippi State football to build something. Y'all better pray the coaches stay. Players stay .....

Last year, we had several fans hoping we would hire him, and we maybe gave an interview. Many said he was not ready, even though he has down more with TX State than their prior history.
But ASU ran over us. As in ran over Blanton at times, and they shoved us around , all around the field.
I just cannot go as far as to say we should have beaten them, after watching how we were handled in that first half last week.

Something Keenum probably had no choice perhaps with Arnett hire, but then again, I don't think Keenum fully understood how the portal allows you to rebuild in one off season so quickly. The panic of losing Rogers, or some of our key players so we had to hire Arnett was a bad miscalculation on our leadership.
I have not been as into MSU football as far as seeing marketing, after seeing all they hype and BS after we hired Arnett, and how he lied to us also in the offseason.
Then we had to read "Blue Collar" , "Back to MSU football in the 90's" propaganda.
That literally would be like in the 90's to hear our sports writers and fans say " we need to get back to MSU football like we played in the 60's"....that is the same time frame.
Sorry for the tangent but our leadership pisses me off.
All this to say, ASU has over 30 players from the portal and rebuilt their team. So as you said, the revolving door of coaches has not been to our advantage with the right DC hire to recruit the portal at least enough to not be pushed around by a team like ASU.

ASU opened -2.5. The public pushed it to TX St -2.5.

I watched the 2nd half.
I was stunned when TS went for it from their 25ish and didn?t succeed with around 3:00 left. Should?ve punted and tried to have forced ASU into a 3 and out. That wasn?t smart coaching.
I?ll take 3 of TS?s d-linemen and 1 LBer! Can they transfer today? 😂😂

If it's close we're staring down the barrel of a 3 win season.... and that's if we beat Toledo.

I’m actually with you here. We may not to more than that. Might be a little shaky at first though.

Agree w most of the things except Arizona state is a good team. They aren't.

State had no business traveling to Tempe to play a game in Sept at 9:30 at night.
Stupid scheduling!
So many other teams within a 2 hour plane ride that could have been scheduled.
Then you add a first year coaching staff, recipe for disaster....and they still had a chance in the end...but the D was gassed and couldnt get a stop.
Long year guys...hang in there...everyone step away from the ledge...if you didnt think that this year was going to be an extreme challenge.... goodness.

While the play time is a little frustrating having a home and away series vs teams we rarely ever play even if it's on either coast makes for interesting games. I don't fault the scheduling. ASU will be at Starkville next year.
