Point being, it's about having the right guy. If we hired TV in 2018 instead of Lemonis we'd be a powerhouse.
Bucketman vs. Rocketman at this point.

I agree that he forced them to step up. But nothing I said was incorrect- all the points are true. Also- Tenn hired him a year before we hired Lemon. We had our own version of Vitello then before he self-imploded.
And I'll remind you- They have the same number of Nattys

So much truth here. Cann was Vitello. They were a carbon copy of each other. We had our Vitello and the College Baseball world knew it. There was legitimate fear within college baseball when we hired Cann because everyone knew he was an ace recruiter and a motivator like none other. Cann keeping his head in the game and out of his phone may be the biggest what if in MSU baseball history. Right up there with Gene Morgan in 85.

I have been very critical of Lemonis, especially regarding his player development. However, C34 made a good point here. Theres no question that Lemon is a "players coach," and the guys seem to enjoy playing for him. The value of that can't be overstated in the current NIL/Transfer climate.

The points are true because they hired TV. Without him, none of that exists.
He would have walked to Starkville for our job in 2018 when we hired Lemonis.
Now that said, I'm not anti Lemonis like many. He can still be very good to great here. But he's not dynamic like a TV.

That season before the wheels came off was pretty damn good. Cann had us like 9 outs away with a pitching staff about like we had in 22-23. That staff was the next man up all year.

We had MULTIPLE position players log innings pitching. Hell Cole Gordon started the year as our backup 1B and ended the year as our Saturday starter. Cann taught that team to fight.

I'm willing to bet they will bounce back a little better than we did though lol. The trajectories of each program post 1st baseball natty couldn't be more opposite but you play dumb to help your stance.
If you were running the program you'd just ride the '21 season into the sunset and be ok with that and tell fans that's all we deserve and to lower expectations.

Injuries killed 22. You’re just being a hardheaded ass if you can’t acknowledge that
23 we were a young team. Certainly blame Lemon for not getting a couple more portals to fill out the team. Because he didn’t- his job was on the line this season.
24- he responded and got us back on track. Parker did a good job but the guys being a year older was also a big deal.
25- better respond again

I mostly agree with this. 2022 was forgivable.
2023 was horrible job of running a program though.
2024 ok but we squandered a top 10 pitching staff.
2025 we better be in a super
