We are in contact with Laviolette, Grahovac, Schott, and Kent. An old friend is trying to help us with Laviolette.

Well, we should have plenty of NIL left for somebody. Can't imagine the 4 players we've gotten required any big payout.

Got numerous out there for pitchers. I'm sure we could find plenty for any of the above. The question is do any of them have return interest. ???

The nil$$$ rumor mill is definitely in full bloom these days, lol!

We aren't getting anyone LSU, Arkansas, Florida, Tennessee, and now probably Texas wants. Like it's probably not worth trying. Lemonis can land solid players that may turn into great ones (see Khal) but he ain't winning a battle with the big boys. He's a beta among alphas

He also has to recruit to Starkville, which is in the middle of nowhere and these recruiting trips are taking place in the dead of summer with no one in town. A lot easier to recruit to towns that have more than 3 bars and 9 mexican restaurants as the nightlife.

He's also a dud of a coach that portal recruits looking for a one year stop probably don't want to hitch their wagon to

Stephen
Yeager
Ledbetter
DuBrule
All one year guys who improved their stock under Lemonis. Hell two of them were even on crappy teams. I understand the frustration from people that we haven't been able to land the big fish, but if it was just Lemonis then none of those guys would've come here. Also that dud won a national championship basically on the back of one of the greatest pitching performances Omaha has ever seen....and he recruited that pitcher.

As I stated, he can land solid players. He can't land the big fish. He did win a national championship and then proceeded to go on a 1,000 day (and counting) run of no postseason ball at the dude, which was built to host regionals and super regionals. We claim to be a national power but we don't operate like one

We were their best opportunity though. Those guys weren't getting huge NIL either.
Yeager wasn't drafted
Ledbetter was a high draft guy before coming to State best get on paper
Debrule wasn't drafted
Stephen was 100% Parker

Again, let's just let this portal and draft play out and see where we end up. It's understandable to not be happy with missing on the Stetson CF and tOSU pitcher. But we are still on the ECU pitcher, the UVA pitcher, and I believe we have been in contact with the UTSA pitcher I mentioned the other day Riojas. We also are on Kash from TTU but he's a draft risk. With the A&M guys, I wouldn't hold my breathe. That's an uphill battle and we would need to throw probably a god offer at any of them to get them here. Which, if we have the funds.....do it.

Since lemo is playing money ball with the lesser known portal guys, why isn't he offering ca$h to the bigger named buys from A&M and others? I think KOdawg1 is correct in his assessments and honest comments.

Because the A&M guys know where they're going. They're either headed to TX or A&M will make them a huge offer. Again, if we decide to say screw it and dump all our NIL pot into Laviolette or Grahovac I wouldn't have an issue. But we'd be done from there.

There's smoke. We're trailing LSU but we're in the mix for him.
