I expect Cupp back. Mershon is still in the air. But you can't sit back and do nothing if he does leave. Part of it.

I think Mershon is gone but not sure Cupp has a position if Reeves is coming. Cupp would have to jump big with the bat (he could). 3B is filled now.

A family member of Aiden Moffett is saying that State has not reached out to Aiden

Not true at all. I've known him since he was a kid and my son has played with and against him for years and recently talked to him. Now they may have dropped contact with him after he came back with an asking price but he's definitely been contacted by us. He wants to go to State and they're more and likely doing this as a ploy to get us to up the ante. This happens frequently.

Mershon is 50/50 and Cupp will be back barring something unforeseen.

We have reached out to Aiden Moffett. That's how we got the insane price he is asking.

Unless Aiden himself is lying he was contacted by us and made an offer but he wants crazy money and we more than likely dropped him after the request. It was insane money he was asking.

This, my son spoke to Aiden a week and a half ago and was told how much he wanted. I almost spit my drink when he told me, lol! Kid thinks he's Skenes.

All those LSU kids thought they were going to go to LSU and be the next Skenes, failing to realize that he was a once in a generation type prospect at the college level.

Mutual parting of ways in most cases. They're about to flip their roster.

Oh yeah, for sure. Be some decent pickups for some other folks though.

Jay Johnson is about to be in a show me year. Without Skenes, a literal once in a generation talent, he has: 1)never hosted nor advanced out of a regional and 2)has never finished inside the top 20 in the polls.
Things will start to get interesting on the Bayou if he has a similar type year.

I would just forget someone like this. LSU is a fine program, if you are garbage there, you are probably garbage anywhere
Too many good players out there like the Ohio State lefty or the Long Beach kid, get some real players. Or the St John catcher. Actual life Marquee players.

Yeah, banking it all on one player, even a pitcher, is putting too many chips in.
I don?t know that people really thought Skenes was it go he became.

Skenes was blue chip. Same as Montgomery. Some dudes are clearly elite.
Did someone think that Skenes was basically a Championship up for grabs. No.

I agree completely. I like Aiden and he has a high ceiling but what he wants is insane. Move onto the next one.

YES! MSU is actually a lot more comparable to LSU as a program right now than some of our fans realize or maybe want to admit.
There are already a lot of "Jay Johnson can't win without Skenes" narratives floating right among their fan base.
Most of the best players in the portal IMO are going to be the ones like you described- from smaller non SEC schools. Actually- see Paul Skenes.

I'll be honest- I think a lot of LSU fans thought that they could just build a team out of the portal because it worked for them a couple of years ago but I think that was more of an anomaly than reality.
