South Carolina fired their coach today
Kendall says they may land a big fish.
That has to be Lemonis, right? ***
-
You mean a team that made a regional fired their coach!!??!?!?!?!
-
For some reason, we have posters that can't understand that John Cohens weird ass was our AD when we made the last hire. No one wanted to work for Cohen. Things are much different and better now. We can land "ALMOST" anyone we want with our baseball support. Watch this next hire.

They'll never hire a good coach **
-
That would be the dream. We don't have to fire him, we don't have to suffer through 1-2 years of his underachieving, and the people who like him get to save face too.
Then we can unite as a fanbase around the new guy (Justin Haire as the floor, maybe someone "better") and get back to the "State Standard" that Lemonis hasn't been living up to these last 3 years.

Prayers it's Lemonis but it's Godwin I believe, maybe Haire but he's not a big fish really.

Godwin would not take a job with a coach fired for regionals and super regionals *** Nope. Ain't happening.
Maybe a couple of our guys on this board can guest post today over there and remind them of their 30 year history(other than Tanners 3 year run) and remind them they are on par and should be happy.
-
We gonna wait and make it just a tad more difficult on ourselves so we can compete with another in-state SEC school next year.

So.... we need to pivot to East Carolina and that job opening . Momma is calling Lemonis home, at least to the Carolinas but not South Carolina.
-
But but but you can't fire a coach after they make a regional!!**
-
South Carolina hasn't made the commitment we have to baseball. If they do now and they have the resources if they want to- I could see them pulling Lemonis. He has been mentioned as a candidate.

The fan list of names on their board is entertaining. They can pull a coach for sure, but they have some loftier names they wish for. Basically, any typical fan base.
Will be fun to see their hot board today.
The 247 mod said he expected this announcement of firing tonight, so it came early being this morning.

And if he takes it, he will waltz right to USCe with David Mershon in tow. Just be careful what you wish for. We can do better, but we sure as hell can, and have before, done worse.

is Mershon not going pro, assuming in the top 10 rounds?

I could see them wanting to hire Lemonis to get Parker back

We need to worry that they skip Lemo and hire Parker as the HC
"After dealing with Ole Miss for over a year," he said, "I've learned to expect their leadership to do and say things that the leadership at other Division I schools would never consider doing and to justify their actions by reminding themselves that "We're Ole Miss.""

He has another year of leverage and I am sure a chance to go home and play for the home state would entice him to stay.

Correct. We will need to up his pay to keep him if I had to guess.

I would assume the new HC likewise has a few star recruits coming our way with him.

I'll be surprised if Mershon doesn't sign pro. He's getting drafted without a doubt.
