A regional should be easier on our pitching staff than the SEC Tournament. The only real issue we have with our bullpen is we can really only use Dohm once probably.

My game plan would be to go with Stephen in game one and hope he can give us his typical 6-7 innings and then go with Hardin and Davis.

For game 2 Loo usually only goes about 6 so I would unleash Dohm at this point if we are ahead. Might have to steal an inning with Davis because I'm not sure if Dohm can go three.

Game three is Auger and all hands on deck. I'm not sure that we can expect him to be Greg Maddux 2.0 again and the issue with him is that he is going to max out at 80 pitches probably.

We're going to need Schuelke and Black to step up.

As always it is all situational. If we're way up in the first game we need to save Hardin and Davis if we can.

    What would Skip Bertman do...

    Pitch CJ versus St Johns

    Pitch Stephen versus UVA

    Pitch Pico versus UVA

Head to Fayetteville. CJ is not dominant yet as a collegiate. You must use the All-SEC guy versus UVA.

UVA's pitching is not great, so if need a 4th game, still have Auger and Dohm.

Haven't looked at UVA's Left/Right mix of hitters but they hit RHP for a 343 average and LHP for 320 average. But hit for more Power on LHP.

This is what I think. You have to save Stephen for UVA game 2. They are going to have a cake walk with Penn who has a losing record. Go Loo in game 1. Yes, we can't go into the losers bracket but the big game is UVA.

I just don't see a lot of difference in CJ and Khal, maybe Khal with a very slight edge. But regardless we need to win the first two games and I have confidence in both, but we gotten clutch hit.

The biggest difference is Khal is more efficient.

I'm far less concerned with our pitching than our hitting. Pitching good enough, it's the damn hitting that's putrid right now.

Option 1. Our bats are cold as ice. We can?t afford to chance it with the way we are hitting. If we were smashing the ball, I may be tempted but still probably not.

What I wish we could do:

    Auger
    Stephen
    Cjintje

What I imagine we will do:

    Cjintje
    Stephen
    Auger

Yeah. Loo has more talent but Kahl has the edge in polish and experience.

Loo always seem to have that one inning that gets away from him a little bit

You are being kind in defining the hitting as "putrid".

    This right here!
Unless someone sticks a red hot coal in the rear end of 42 and 44.... pitching rotation probably wont be an issue!

Way less worried about 42 than 44. 42 just needed to see one find a hole. And he hit 3 on the damn screws in Hoover that'd be 60 ft out of UVA's ballpark.

    Auger-Stephen-JC is the smart play

    (1) Virginia feels like they owe us a beating for two big post season TKOs
    (2) O'Conner probably wakes up screaming for pitching to Tanner Allen with a RH sidewinder a few years ago
    (3) John Grisham is acting like bitch and calling O'Connor about MSU coming to town
    (4) UVA is going to absolutely save the two best arms for MSU
    (5) If you don't use Auger on St John, you are using Auger on UVA during a much bigger game
    (6) Auger is pitching very well, Ole Miss during a make or break pitcher duel was a harder opponent than St John

I hope they get it figured out quick!
It only takes one clean line drive in the gap to get a good hitter back on track and seeing the ball good again.

Yeah while DJ still has holes in his swing he hit 3 balls in the sect that would've more than likely been hrs or xbh in 90% of the parks we play in. Hines is just not hitting anything hard at all right now and can't pickup spin at all.
