The only pitch he can hit right now is a mistake out over the plate. The fastball in is eating him alive right now. The kid has been so talented growing up he just out talented the pitchers he was hitting against. Now he's facing pitchers that know how to pitch and exploit the holes in his swing and if he doesn't make adjustments he's screwed. At this point it's not a slump, it's adjust or die.
Needs to take a step or two back in the box. Although he might be talented enough and quick enough to pull the trigger a hair sooner and get the barrel on it.

Starting to think Gotro is the new Foxhall just with the hitters instead of the pitchers this time. On the other side Parker's guys have now given up only 8 runs in 3 games in the SEC tourney but still find ourselves in the loser's bracket.
He's not laying off breaking balls and he's trying to pull everything no matter what.

I'm about done with Gautreau and his BS pro style philosophy.

He needs to get off the plate. He's tying himself up on fastballs in, he's so close to the plate anything inner third he thinks is off the plate and if he does offer he can't get the barrell to the ball. Him and Hunter are equivalent to a pitcher that throws hard but doesn't know how to pitch. Give you an example, a couple of years ago in the south state playoffs my son had a kid who was just an incredible power hitter, committed to State but is now at usm. He was another one of these kids stand on top of the plate pull everything hitter. Difference is this kid actually listened and was coachable. First 2 times up he jammed himself because of being to close to the plate. He came up bottom 7, 2 outs, 2 on down by 2. Kid knew what they were doing to him so he backed off the plate and that first pitch fastball instead of a jam shot he got the barrell there and hit about 400 feet for a walkoff. You have to go up there with a plan and make adjustments even during abs. The hitters that can do that, became stars the ones that don't never reach their potential.

This. Watch the tip of DJs bat after he is finished his swing. It's pointing to to sky and he is swinging over the ball. He isn't even watchin g the ball to the bat and it's been like this for awhile.. Freddie Freeman can get away with that. Watch the end of Husaks swing nice a little elevated and watch where his eyes are when he swings.

Hujsak is the most complete hitter we have and he has a plan everytime he goes up there.

Exactly! I remember Pete Rose was talking about hitting one time- I think it was The Baseball Bunch maybe LOL- but what he said was really good.

He said if you are struggling change where you stand in the box first especially if you have had a lot of success with the swing and stance you are using.

He could start by not swing out of your shoes on every swing. Guess what, you don?t even have 20 homers. You are not that good when other guys have 30+ in your league.

Next, learn to just slow you bat down and keep it in the zone as long as possible when you need to get the bat on the ball.

Another simple run given up. Does this seem like only Mersh, Larry, and Hujsak are giving a shit in this game?

Can we get a little damn emotion poking through?

I am ready for Dakota to just go apeshit about something. Show me something my dude. We are all behind you. Take this shit personally and let?s get it done.

That was a good swing, but you are not adjusting to the pitch.

I love swinging at simple balls out of the zone. We need a single.
