Here is the thing, some of our players need to be told, to their face, that they are not Barry Bonds. You have a couple guys swinging for the fence, with their head all out in front of the pitch looking dumb, and Hujsak comes up and stays behind the ball and is the hero. He looked like he was just trying to make solid contact and was rewarded with a gift inner half fastball. The same pitch other guys came out of their shoes and FN Whiffed.
Just saying. Chill out and for Gods sake, when they are pitching you outside, take it to opp center.

I'd actually go:
1. Mershon
2. DJ
3. Hujsak
4. Hines
5. Larry
6. Chance
7. Kohler
8. Powell
9. Downs/Pulliam/Stevens

The sad thing is that Jordan got that same pitch twice. He looked at it once and his head was in the Ole Miss dugout on the other one.

On their swing and misses both have a wavy swing. Some call it a ripple swing. It's a tennis racket swing. It's surprising the wind from one of their whiffs doesn't blow the pitcher off the mound.

Doesn't even have to go the other way. Just use the whole field. Stop taking Daddy Hacks with two strikes.

Why are you moving Jordan up. He now leads the league with 72 strikeouts. You want that swing getting more abs? No. He needs to be 6th at best. Move Hines to 3, Hujsak to 4, Koehler to 5, DJ 6, Larry 7, (Powell 8, or Long), Pulliam 9.

Yeah no way I give Mr. anti-clutch more ABs

No offense, but you're clueless.

Yep. And all he had to do was put one of them in play. Mersh was already on second by that time. Just sit back and load up, don?t try to unload on it.

If they would actually hit a fraction of as good as Bonds we?d be happy. Bonds was a contact hitter who had power. Then he got pissed when two clowns were getting all of the press. He and Ted are the best hitters of all time.

I had zero confidence that Hines or Jordan would hit. I almost absolutely knew that Higesak was gonna crush a fastball. He was salivating at that 95 mph pitch that was coming.

When we say go the other way, we are talking about home runs. We are talking right center gap. Every single player should think gap on all outside pitches. Make a damn art form out of it. We should be daring pitchers to pitch us outer half. Instead we try to pull everything. Chance and Mersh are the only two that looks to go the other way. And Larry I suppose.
Larry has been swinging with ill intent since got back in the lineup. No more chip type swings. He really has done well as of late.

No. Tony Gwynn and Ted were the two best hitters of all time. Without roids, Bonds hits 425 homers and never gets over 40 in a season.

Yep, I said as much before the inning except I was thinking a K and a pop out to 2nd for DJ and Hines.
Hines crushed his ball, 1st baseman just made a damn good play. 75% of the time that ball is booted and Mersh scores.

Hines was unlucky. For some reason I feel better about HH than DJ. I think DJ needs another year to mature, but we won’t get that and neither will he.

Haven't seen a stat line like that since Greg Maddux was pitching!

How many times has that happened with 6 or more innings pitched? Gotta be a low number.
