I don't feel like explaining it to you. Google it. But it's true basketball analytics might not be as valuable as baseball. But PER, WS, and box +\- are used frequently.

A couple of thoughts from last night:
1. We held serve. Winning was the most important thing last night and we took care of that. Now we have a massive game on Saturday for us. We need to get a road win under our belts. We needed 5-0 in this stretch so 1 down and 4 to go.
2. Jones struggled last night but came up when it counted. Credit to Jans for sticking with him and letting him fire away. His 3 from the corner with about 5 minutes to go staved off their final comeback and Hubbard pulled down the curtains on it the next possession. Jones HAS to be better for us though. We do not need him to score 15 a game. We need 2 to 3 threes a game from him.
3. Murphy could be an X Factor moving forward. Was great to see Murphy out there last night. He still is pretty bad defensively but he is long and if he can provide you 6-8 points off the bench then you have something. That is what we are missing right now. We kind of know what we are going to get from everyone, but need a bench scorer or 2.
4. I liked the tempo we played with last night. We tired them out with the tempo and by the 8 minute mark of the 2nd half they were tired out and were a step or two slow on their doubles of Tolu and he took over. That is where he needs to dominate the game.
5. Hubbard looked like he still had some Bama rust on him but came on in the 2nd half. It is amazing that he can play what seems to be a bad game for him and you look up and he has 14 points.
6. Please for the love of god, go find shooters next year in the portal.

We played pretty well. Held them to their lowest scoring total of the season as did SC on Saturday. 62

It still helps efficiency rating to win by as much as possible

Was I the only one that noticed Tolu getting the ball farther away from the goal and facing up (not getting on the block and pound dribbling his way to the goal with 3 people hanging on him)?

No, it was noticed
Against smaller and less talented players, it works pretty well.

Hub is a liability on defense. and his makes some lazy passes. so for him to play he really needs to shoot well.

This is actually a good point and I'm a fan of Hubbard. But he doesn't give us much anywhere else other than scoring and the numbers say that, he only averages 1.7 apg, 0.6 spg, 2.3 rpg 0.1 bpg so if he isn't scoring the ball he doesn't really do a whole lot else for us. That being said he is our best perimeter scorer so Jans has to live with his deficiencies in other areas. If Hubb was about 6'5" he'd be declaring for the draft after this season because he can score that well, but his size does limit him, and that's not his fault.

Jans is going to need to pull in some portal players next year. Besides Hubbard, Murphy and Jones I don’t think anyone is returning with meaningful minutes. We do have a good player from Erie PA coming in next year but I think that’s about it. We need to take advantage of the experience this year and get into the tournament because next year will be tough unless Jans can put a Lamont Paris type portal class together

I'm all for that, but Jans is going to have to surround him with other scorers who can also contribute in other ways. You rarely see a small guard like that lead teams to championships at the college or pro level.

It does not have to be very big. He is not making the NBA so his choices will be take 75-100K to play here, which is around what we pay him now, or he can take the same amount and play in Helsinki

You would be surprised how much money those guys can make overseas. I promise you it's more than 75-100k unless you are just in a ran down country which Cam wouldn't be. I know this for a fact, my brother in law had a lengthy career playing basketball overseas.
Cam is at minimum a Euroleague player and their average salary is 500 to 800k a year.. some of the elite guys make more.
The China basketball league guys make even more, average salary there is 1 - 3 million a year
