Bookie - AP SEC defensive POY and All-American

Bookie Watson named AP SEC Defensive PoY, and 2nd Team All-American at LB.

    But he's too slow....

    He'll go 3rd round with a solid 40 time.

Great for him and us. Very much deserved.

Going to be very interested in what's next for Bookie. Assuming he gets a Combine invite, I'd be surprised if he runs a 40 time much faster than 4.75. He'll be lucky to have a team take a flyer on him in rounds 5-7. Fantastic college player, but that doesn't always translate to the next level where speed is imperative. Would love to be surprised and see him run high 4.5s and get in that round 3-4 range, though.

That's awesome. Well deserved honor. He and Jett gave 150% every play even when things headed south. Great news following a shitty season.

Well deserved. Led SEC in sacks; he can play in NFL. We gonna miss him. He also was the soul of the D.

He's not as good as Wheat who went undrafted. I think he will make a practice squad and maybe even a roster playing ST's and such. But the pro game is about LB's that can cover in the passing game- and that aint him.

Looks a lot like a NFL 3-4 ILB to me

His lack of speed. There is a reason we kept blitzing him and Jett to rush the QB- they cant cover in the passing game worth a ****. That does not equate to pro LB

We never coached them to cover. We coached them to spot drop. Huge difference. We played mountain west zone coverage

That's the defense the DC played it had nothing to do with his speed. The dude played WR in high-school. He had enough speed to be the top player in the SEC so he'll be just fine.
