Just here to remind everyone, Arnett is a great guy that has worked through a terrible time following Leach?s death. No need to run him down. It just wasn?t his time to be HC. It was a tough situation and we can move on without the vitriol.

Memphis sports radio discussing it and said most people recognize Arnett was essentially an interim coach without the "interim" label.

Well sure. If it worked out, it would have been great. Good luck Arnett. I wish we could keep him as strickly a DC, but I doubt that would be possible.

He was forced into a gig he wasn?t ready for. I?m sure he will land on his feet.

It was absolutely necessary for Arnett to go, for the future of the program.
That said, he has received life-changing wealth and experience from this adventure and that probably helps.
I expect him to land somewhere, do excellent DC work, rise through the ranks, become a head coach elsewhere, come to Starkville, and beat us. Because that's the tradition.

Hopefully someone hires him as a DC and pays him around 1 million a year. That will help offset our buyout.

I hope Arnette will be able to speak freely about what restrictions were put on him, if any, and by who, in order for him to get the job. I just find it hard to believe he would have changed the offense like he did after we won 9 games in 2022, with most players coming back, if he had a choice. But what do I know ?

This should shut the Selmon sucks crowd up for a couple of weeks until he hasn't moved fast enough in hiring someone.
    I've been hard on him.
My hope is he is good at hiring coaches. He's made some hires inside the dept that look promising. So there is hope there.

It had to be done. Glad we didn't wait.

I hope Zac finds his MOJO once he's away from this situation.
Good luck to him in the future.

I hope we are firing all the other influencers in the building also, that pushed for all this 180 in one offseason

This. 1000x. One of MSU athletics biggest issues when it comes to football is we have some real dead weight in administration that is REALLY holding the program back. I hope Selmon starts cleaning house soon.

I want to see ZA land on his feet and become a great DC again. Somewhere far away where we don't have to go against his D
