I actually agree. Go ahead and fire Arnett tomorrow and then let Barbay call the offense his way and we can see what the offense actually looks like. Will it be better? Probably not, but we know Arnett messes with the offense so lets just see what it looks like without his stink in the building.

It's 100% confirmed (by Arnett himself) that he has pushed Barbay to run more and be more conservative, most notably in the second half of the Arizona game.

That was one game, game 2 of the season. It has not been a thing since. Trust me, Arnett is letting the OC do what he wants.

I think Zach has meddled in pretty much every SEC game other than South Carolina. Which is pretty ironic, given how Leach gave him 100% total control over the defense.
This is not a defense of Barbay. I'm not saying retain him or anything. But it would be interesting to see what happens the next 2 week with Barbay and no Arnett.

Which coincidentally was one of the last times we had a lead in a game. Arkansas looked like he was meddling as well. So basically the only game that he has not meddled since is WMU

We obviously need to nail the hire this time, but unless we ALSO prioritize NIL and join the rest of the modern world (as begrudgingly as it takes) we are destined to be the FB version of Vandy in the West for years to come.
