had the WR been set- the QB would have been looking at the Center- not the WR

Conservative, like "Iowa of the Big 10" conservative. That'll be real fun to watch going forward.

And in rainbow land, the blindside block isn't called, and we win anyway.

And watch the replay of that play... the ref is waving his arms blowing the whistle from the beginning. Players stop playing when that happens, so it's dumb to think the play goes the same way without the ref killing the play

Yep. I hate hypotheticals because they are, as you said, useless. What?s the old saying,?If my aunt had balls she?d be my uncle?. Same premise. Everyone wanted to get the win yesterday and we got it but some aren?t enjoying it. Do we still have a buttload of work to do to get better? Absolutely! We are not close to where we need to be as a team but maybe just maybe this win will get us headed in the right direction. Gotta let the season play out. And one things for
Certain it?s better to win 7-3 than lose 7-3 just ask the pigs.

Nothing you say will make this any better. It was the very definition of a blindside block. That goes back to coaching. They told the universities that they would be enforcing it more this year. The staff failed to train them to that.

Nobody around that play stopped due to a whistle. You are grasping at straws.

That's not an accurate scenario. The QB was surprised at the snap because he was watching for the WR to get set. The WR not being set is the reason he wasn't watching the snap.

Was the false start called correctly?

The same team and QB that so many on here predicted for two weeks we're going eat our lunch?? So Arky was hungry and better coached for the past two weeks when everyone thought we would lose, but demoralized and poorly coached when we win???

Dude he?s talking about the false start on the fumble when they blew it dead not the blind side block.

It's hard to pivot mid year as a first time head coach.

Get to 6-6 or 7-5 and find a way for ZA to pivot in the off-season. He didn't look prepared for the struggle, which I'm sure we can all at least be somewhat understanding of a first time coach in his situation.

The decision making and situational awareness has to get better. But we make a bowl, find a way to fill some holes, give it year 2 under this offense and we might have a better understanding of how ZA truly is as a HC. But right now he's taking some lumps for sure and is bringing some of it on himself for sure.

I thought Wright did really well yesterday. Up until now, he'd only come in for a couple of meaningless plays (I think) in garbage time, so there was no way to tell what he was made of. Yesterday, he was a good runner and a decent passer, except for the first play of the game. I think he'll do better as the year progresses if he keeps the starting position.

It was mostly an ugly game offensively, but still better than we've seen this year for the most part.

I enjoy the games now, but I don't get overly excited since we dropped season tickets 4 or 5 years ago (too old to make the long round trip; it was beginning to be a chore), so I probably take a calmer position now than I did a few years ago. NIL causing players to be professionals played a part as well.

That's correct - he was. So it was a dead play from the get-go. I only noticed the ref stopping the play on the replay, not in real time. Regardless, we were fortunate.

It's nice to have a win but let's stop acting like we beat UGA 7-3.
Half the message board heroes were predicting 0-8 this week. Now we get a win and it?s not good enough. God damn MSU fans are a shitty bunch.

Of interest, the last time we won an SEC game scoring 7 or less? 1980 (State 6, Alabama 3).
