    Severe event has started

Currently two tornado warnings and a few severe thunderstorm warnings in central and south MS. Couple other strong, but not currently severe storms in north MS. Stay weather aware next few hours.

What the heck is going on? I can't ever remember tornado outbreaks in June unless it was associated with something tropical. What's the deal? This is March/April type crap.

I can't ever recall an entire week of severe weather like this, wave after wave, not even in the height of spring storm season. Severe weather at all in June is unusual. Just a very rare meteorological event.

Appreciate the heads up! Thanks to you and SVD for always keeping me in the loop with this stuff! Appreciate y'all. I was in Fort Smith all last week and didn't even see a drop of rain until I headed home on Friday. My wife slept throught most of the bad weather at home, lol.

This morning. Was on my way to my mom's house to do some things for her. The tree was not all the way down and when I went under it I either brushed a limb or had horrible timing and it came down on my truck.

I didn't know it was that bad at first. It was when my son saying glass was broken out I realized the severity of it all.

So it survived being in the center of 2 tornados that I know of because I was riding shotgun in both, only to be taken out by a tree on a sunny day. What irony.

Moss Point main street closed down. School gym roof tore off. M&M bank and First Baptist both torn up. Lots of flooding. I'm down here working in Goula for the week and it's a little crazy driving in. Flew into GPT and had to route through Gautier to 90 instead of driving South on 63 off Exit 69.
