    This past #1 overall pick was the #6 overall pick the year before. I just don't think you can look at people leaving when they do like you used to. The college game/coaching has changed so much, and the reality of you probably not making The Show and the difficulty of you spending 4 years starting at age 27 going back to college is probably a lot louder than it was when 100% of high draft pick high schoolers took the contract. I don't think it's ridiculous on either side. It's a family decision and it's a case by case deal. No black helicopters please.

    the spending cap on the draft also makes it easier for some of these guys to go to school/go back to school

    I see it on both sides but a first round pick? All I am saying is that you don't see it often and there aren't as many pros to cons when choosing school over MLB contracts

    well if he makes the majors, he'd have to be a CEO of at least a moderately successful corp or develop his own successful startup to make the same $$. i don't know what his signing bonus would have been either, but a 1st rounder if likely getting a couple of million. that's a nice start to building your life even if you don't make it big time.

    This looks nothing like the Vandy I know. Errors, guys defensively running into each other, catcher letting 6 or 7 get by him, balls hit hard, outfielders looking lost. They look awful. I mean that CF was running away from the ball just now on Armstrong's grounder up the middle. I've never seen that before.
