Listened to Lane's presser.....
Something to hear him moan and complain about officials, injuries and poor coaching, but the best part was him referencing that there was a rumor of Leach retiring and.... "it must be true because their defensive Co is acting like this is his last game because he's just running blitz zero in the middle of the field to start series and stuff and nobody ever does that and he did which was a great game plan and we have to make him pay and which you see we didn't."
Need to push all in for Arnett!!

Arnett will sell out and take something away from you that you enjoy doing, and are accustomed to doing. Now admittedly that opens up some real holes in his defense that can be exploited. Often he is banking on the opposing coach not being disciplined enough to keep exploiting that hole in the defense, or that he can create enough chaos that it won't matter. Arnett was determined to take away the run game of Ole Miss and he did. And forcing the field goals early was huge.
Arnett is the type that if he was playing the Tennessee Titans he would load up and take away Derrick Henry, even if it exposed his secondary. Because he doesn't believe the Titans would be willing to give the ball to Henry 5 times in a game while allowing Tannehill to throw it 55 times. He thinks you would continue to pound your running back because that is what you have always done. And it would lead to the offense being in some bad "down and distance" situations. It's also very mentally frustrating on the offense.
Arnett takes some risks. I like him. And I think the players like him.

The Famous Maroon Band started the intro to "Baby Shark" with the Jaws theme that everyone has heard them do to lead into it... then they switched to "Never Gonna Give You Up" to rick-roll the OM fans.

The thing is, defenses have to be balanced enough to play vs any offensive style. But offenses can rep what they want over and over. So as a defense if you can take away what they're best at they often suck, because they don't rep those other methods of attack enough to be good at it. When a team can run it inside, RPO you, and beat you over the top, that's when you tip your cap and say "nothing we could do". Like Vs UGA, we took away the run but Bennett is good enough to beat us. Oh well, nothing we can do short of recruit more 5* CBs to cover for longer
