Kansas State to Miss State is a lateral or downward move.
Prime time had to reach a legal settlement 6 figures for allegedly strangling/choking 3 prime academy employees, this is in addition to alleged academic and financial irregularities. He probably will never pass FBS vetting. Recent Wash Post article details this along with another report by a Baltimore journalist.
After Leach leaves, Prime is my number one hope for Miss State. Will be entertaining.

PrimeTime, Me, and Bucky here on the board all have the same chance of being State's next HC. I'll leave you all to guess that percentage

I heard all the same great recruiting bs about Croom becoming coach. I’ll rest my case.

Wait are people on this site actually serious about hiring prime?

I think Primetime may get the USF job. It will be a solid challenge, but he will get some players and bring the hype.

I definitely think he's back, regardless of the EB.

So, essentially, the Egg Bowl is a meaningless game to State?s leaders now? Let?s just get rid of the Trophy then, since it means nothing to State.

What if I told you there is a coach available who has never won fewer than 6 games, has won 8+ nine of his 11 years, has coached a national championship game, and would 100% take the job.

If we lose the EGG, 7-5 with 4-0 OOC, 3-5 in the SEC, 3 straight losses to OM, and a non-competitive "O" against SEC teams with a pulse on "D". Not to mention a disappearing act "O" for a quarter or two in most all games. A dud of a year and no momentum for 2023.

Did this coach perchance do all this with a roster full of 5*s?

The team that made the national championship had two 5* players, 3 of the 11 seasons were at G5 and all 3 of those ended with 8+ wins.

Why is it meaningless? We don't even have an AD. We aren't firing a 7-5 coach with our NIL situation in it's infancy, and behind everyone else's.

I think most of us are in the if Leach loses this year he is on the hot seat next year and basically has to win the Egg Bowl in 2023.
Agree or not- I'm giving him a pass for 2020. 2021 and this year is completely on Leach though.
The truth is if you are the football coach at Mississippi State you have to win the Egg Bowl some- probably at least 50% of the time or slightly more going off of Jackie and Dan.

And who would this be?

Gus Malzahn. Meshes well with our traditional strengths too. Gritty up front with a power run game and utilizing your QB?s strengths. He?s proven he?s a better coach than Freeze, Kiffin, Rhule, etc but everyone writes him off because things got stagnant down the stretch at AU when he started letting his OC?s control the offense.

Unfortunately, I think they are.

PT would generate FAR more publicity than Croom ever thought about and re-energize the fan base. Heck, he's recruiting 5 stars to JSU. Think what he could do here.
